From the third chapter of this delightfully messy Broadway AU I've been burying myself in.
Obi-Wan and Anakin have snuck into the theater to watch auditions, Obi-Wan was in charge of bringing the coffee... (thank you to @palfriendpatine66 for helping me decide on Anakin's coffee order, because that conversation lead directly to this scene and I love it so much)
“I must say I was very intrigued by your order,” Obi-Wan smiled before repeating his coffee preference back to him, “black coffee with whipped cream.” Anakin sat down, facing the older man as he pulled a large thermos from the bag he'd been carrying, “black coffee,” he said with a smile, placing it in front of Anakin and pointing at the two metal cups that unscrewed from the top. Next, he pulled out a small cooler and Anakin was starting to think that backpack was a lot bigger than it had looked. Unzipping the cooler, Obi-Wan pulled out a mason jar before declaring proudly, “and whipped cream.”
For a moment, Anakin just looked back and forth between Obi-Wan and the jar in his hands as the older man twisted off the lid and offered it to Anakin.
“Wait,” he said as he took the jar, “did you make this?”
“Yes, well,” Obi-Wan laughed a bit sheepishly, “originally I’d thought homemade would be a bit overkill and just bought a can, but then of course I realized how loud that would be.”
Anakin laughed, bright and genuine at the thought, “that would have killed my crush for sure!”
“A missed opportunity,” Obi-Wan responded with a laugh of his own, “can you imagine us up here trying to quietly dispense whipped cream?”
Blissfully they laughed together, Obi-Wan steadying himself with a hand on Anakin’s shoulder, who still held the jar uselessly in his hand.
He was so glad he’d insisted they get here early. He’d wanted to pick the man’s brain about his own audition, but this was so much better.
“Okay, wait,” Anakin said finally when he’d stopped laughing hard enough to speak, his cheeks sore from his smile, “but you made this.”
“At least taste it before you decide I’m a chef,” Obi-Wan said, reaching out and dipping his finger into the fluffy white confection and holding it out toward Anakin.
His heart was hammering in his chest as they just stared at each other. The smile on Obi-Wan’s face said he knew exactly what he was doing, and Anakin thought he might die right there.
“You’re torturing me,” Anakin whispered.
“I made you whipped cream,” Obi-Wan replied.
Pushing aside all doubt, Anakin leaned forward and took Obi-Wan’s thick finger into his mouth. He let out a little involuntary sigh at the delectable flavor that spread across his tongue and barely suppressed a moan as he sucked the sugar from Obi-Wan’s skin, watching as the man’s pupils blew wide in interest, the finger in his mouth pressing down gently on his tongue.
I like literally everything about this.
“That’s incredible,” Anakin said instead, noting the way Obi-Wan’s touch lingered on his lower lip before he pulled back, “what is that?”
“Frangelico,” Obi-Wan grinned, “I usually make it with bourbon, but you seem a bit sweeter than that.”
“Did you just call me sweet?” he asked and Obi-Wan chuckled as he poured coffee into each of the little cups before topping them both with whipped cream.
