roger telling garp that he was a good man who he trusted as much as his own crew is SICKENING when you consider elbaf. bc roger rayleigh and scopper raised shanks from a baby and eventually adopted buggy as well. scopper admits that they were their SONS, and they would have protected them to their deaths. they even learned how to fight holy knights for shanks. so in his final hours, roger entrusted his greatest secret to garp not just hoping but expecting his child would meet a kinder fate than he. that his son would not pay for his fathers sins. that the garp/marines would not take him to the gallows.
