Today got off to a rough start, was running late (without realizing it) couldn’t find my keys or purse, and then struggled to find my footing once I got to church for practice. Now that being said I could move and beat myself up, as usual, but someone told me once that we make our happiness, we choose to be joyful. Me not caring about others judging me! I have learned to worry about being happy with myself and my family.... I’m happy with the little and with everything I have because I am BLESSED 💜 I was often bullied in school by kids and within my family as well. I was called yoshi because of my nickname, I was also called nappy headed because of my curls and frizz I was called toothpick for being skinny. I was very skinny because I hardly wanted to eat and I actually became anemic. I was called boy because growing up I was very skinny and had no breasts or a girl look, I was t allowed to shave early either and I was a very hairy girl. My grandma actually bought me a dress and gave me some type of powder for my face and gave me earrings and told me “you always have to look like a girl!” She was sweet for that!. I was made fun of because of not knowing how to speak proper English, I grew in Puerto Rico 🇵🇷 therefor my primary language was Spanish. People often shoved me aside for being shy and me being afraid of speaking because of my language and I was also suffering in my private life. I was quiet because I was abused and molested. While I was growing up girls would tease me and told me I had crayons for boobs! I was in 8th grade for peeps sake! So this is me now not caring what people think because I now know who I truly am! I’m a beautiful, loving, patient, strong, overcoming woman!!! It took me over 20 years to find myself and I thank God for helping me and for opening my eyes to so many things!!! Remember to always smile! Even when you can’t find that one memory that made you smile... I like to look at some funny vines or watch funny videos on YouTube to cheer me up! They work like a charm!!! This was me in 2017 that year was so crazy! From hurricane Irma hitting us to us not having electricity, cars breaking down left and right! and getting our van repoed, I have had my shares on bad days and although they were horrible they thought me a great lesson... that’s to appreciate what I have right in front of me because yes, while I didn’t have power temporarily there are those that always live in the darkness with no electricity... I appreciate having electricity because if not I would not be able to communicate like this and this wouldn’t be able to reach the world! I am so blessed that we went through hurricane Irma and got to experience what is like to be terrified of Mother Nature... always always always be grateful because it can be so much worst!
