Gaara isn't big on the pet names. He prefers to call you by your name most of the time, as it's what represents you (and he loves you). But sometimes, in quieter moments when only you can hear him, he will whisper "my love" in your ear.
K - Kisses (how they kiss)
I hope you don't like breathing because Kankuro's kisses are intense. The man doesn't know how to do light kissing. When you two kiss, it's always going to be hungry, deep, and passionate.
Now that I've finally come to the sexy tiemz portion of my WIP I think it's time to take a step back and breathe in everything else for a little while.
Besides time with the fam, I am thinking:
Binge Boruto, I need more Otsutsuki content (and Chojuro and Gaara - I haven't completely forgotten about them!)
Catch up on Obi-Wan (and maybe read some dark dark angsty fics since I'm too much of a wreck to write that myself)
Watch @lesyarei7 's video on how she renders drawings and learn something new!
Read Gaara Shinden
I need to eventually get back into the routine of waking at 5 for exercise/Oculus but *sob* I'm not ready
What are you guys currently doing/wanting to catch up on?
Tagging some folks but no pressure: @nightingaleflow @lemony-snickers @whiskers-the-lyxra @kiyoshy @justafrange @hetaonikidd @coyest @chojuuro @fatherandersonstan @ghoulgaara @justmyownreality @kabutoliker @otonokuni
How about kabuto? Are you mentally ill for the character? That square is the best.
kabuto the love of my life i AM mentally ill about him more than most people can comprehend.
i was torn between didnt get enough or got too much screentime but. i think i went with didnt get enough screentime because most of the stuff he did in the war arc fillers was just sit in his cave and seethe about his edo tensei cannon fodder getting beaten
Oh! Open requests?! How about Mizukage Chojuro taking gender neutral reader on a date at a "mall" or whatever they got to shop in like in Boruto. Maybe he gets talked into, or suggests, a love reading with tarot cards (I blame the Arcana visual novel for this).
Ohhh honey how did you know that Tarot readings are my weakness
But of course, absolutely. It's time for Chojuro to have some love. Also, did I give Kirigakure a Tropical Smoothie Cafe? Yes, yes I did.

A Fortunate Outing
You waited in front of the enormous fountain at the mall’s entrance. You found the sound soothing as water cascaded down to the pool below, but your hands still fidgeted with the fabric of your sweater. Had you dressed up enough? Was it too much? This was supposed to be just a casual first date, hence why you were at the mall. But there was such a thing as too casual, especially when your date was the actual Mizukage.
“There you are, y/n!”
Your head turned, and you smiled as you saw Chojuro walk through the doors. To your relief, he was also dressed casually in a basic blue sweater and dark pants. He still had that headset, but you’d long since gotten used to it.
He walked straight to you and gave you a warm hug, which you gladly returned. As you pulled apart, you became aware of probing eyes from passersby. Chojuro followed your gaze, then immediately offered you his arm. “Don’t worry about them,” he said, his tone comforting. “This afternoon is about us.”
You accepted the arm, and the two of you set off.
“How was your day?” you asked.
Chojuro shrugged. “Same ambergris, different day,” he replied. “Obviously, I can't go into anything too specific, but there are some negotiations that aren’t going as smoothly as I’d hoped.”
You let out a sympathetic noise. “I’m sorry. I hope I’m not taking too much time away from that.”
Chojuro shook his head. “No need to apologize,” he said. “It won’t get solved in a day, and besides, I wanted to spend time with you today.”
You glowed at his comment. “I’m glad, I was really looking forward to this.”
The two of you made a stop at the food court. Most of the restaurants had an abundance of oily foods, which Chojuro disliked, so you two chose smoothies from the tropical smoothie place instead. Yours was star fruit and mango, his was strawberry and lime, and both tasted heavenly.
You window shopped at a clothing boutique, marveling at the grey coat perfectly modeled by the mannequin. Chojuro politely dealt with civilians and shinobi alike coming up to greet him, giving them a courteous hello before returning his attention to you. You did wish you could have him all to yourself, but it was a small price to pay for being with him at all.
You then spotted a curious little shop advertising fortune telling. You tugged at Chojuro’s arm. “Can we go in there?”
He looked at the shop, then back at you. “I didn’t know you were into that sort of thing.”
You shrugged. “I just think it would be fun.” You gave him your best puppy dog eyes. “Please?”
He shook his head with a chuckle. “Now, how could I say no when you look so cute?”
He led you inside the store. The shelves along the walls held crystal balls, decks of tarot cards, pendulums, and mirrors. A table near the entrance was covered with a rich purple cloth decorated with moons, with a small sign advertising a sale on tarot readings with the shop owner. A pleasant scent - sandalwood, you thought - rose from the incense burner in the corner.
“I bid you welcome,” a melodic voice said.
You and Chojuro turned to see an older woman sitting at the back of the store. She was at a table identical to the one at the front with a deck of tarot cards by her right hand. She smiled at you. “My name is Mirai,” she said. “Have you come to learn your fortunes?”
You glanced at Chojuro, silently checking if he was still ok with this. He nodded at you, then you both sat across from Mirai.
She began shuffling the cards. “It’s always so nice to see such beautiful young people together. It really takes me back.” She glanced between you. “We can do a more general reading of course, but I can also do a love reading, if you’d like.”
Your heart quickened as your grip on Chojuro’s arm tightened.
“A love reading, please,” Chojuro said.
You blushed as he smirked at you. Were you really that easy to read?
“A love reading it is,” Mirai said. She put the deck back together, then offered it to you. “Please cut the deck into three piles.”
You did as she requested. She then had Chojuro put the three piles together in whichever order he chose. Finally, Mirai took the deck back and set three cards down in front of you.
“We’re doing a simple three card spread,” she explained. “From my left, these cards represent your shared past, present, and future. First, your past.”
Mirai turned the first card over, making a sympathetic noise as she revealed the Three of Swords. “The Three of Swords is not a happy card,” she said. “It represents sorrow and heartbreak. If it’s in this position, it makes me think that the beginning of your story wasn’t a happy one. Am I correct?”
You felt Chojuro stiffen. You stroked his arm reassuringly, willing yourself not to think too much about those dark days when the Blood Mist faction had attempted to assassinate him. “You could say that,” you allowed.
Mirai smiled. “You do not have to share any secrets with me,” she reassured both of you. “I’m merely interpreting what the cards are telling us.” She then flipped over the next card, the one that represented the present. “Ah, The Fool!” she said, looking pleased.
Chojuro looked slightly offended. “The deck is calling us fools?”
You couldn’t help but chuckle at how cute he looked when indignant.
“No, not at all, Lord Mizukage,” Mei reassured him. “The Fool represents new beginnings. This leads me to believe that your relationship is fairly new, am I correct?”
You and Chojuro nodded as matching pink blushes hit your cheeks.
“Then that means that whatever happened in your pasts, you were able to move past them and make a fresh start,” Mirai said with a warm smile. “Now the future is full of possibilities and opportunities. That’s not to say there won’t still be difficulties ahead, but if you work together, you can overcome them, just as you did in your pasts.” She laid her hand on the third card. “And speaking of your future…”
She turned the card over.
“Oh, the Ten of Cups,” she said, practically purring as she said the name.
“Is that good?” you asked.
“It’s very, very good,” Mirai said. “The Ten of Cups doesn’t just represent love. It represents harmonious and blissful love.” She smiled at you two. “This is quite possibly the best card to have in a love reading, because it means nothing but good things in your romantic future.”
You glowed at the thought, thinking of all the joys that could lay ahead for you two. When you looked at Chojuro, his eyes were misty as he looked at something unseen ahead.
You thanked Mirai for her time and paid her for her services. Then the two of you left her store, each of you quietly lost in thought.
After a minute, you decided to break the silence. “That was fun,” you said.
He nodded. “That first card was rather eerie.”
“It was,” you agreed. You studied him closely. “Are you ok?”
He nodded. “My scars from back then no longer trouble me, mental or physical.” He then lifted your hand. “I also wouldn’t have met you if I hadn’t gotten them, so I consider it a fair exchange in the end.”
Your skin buzzed as he tenderly pressed his lips to your fingers. “Chojuro,” you breathed.
He smiled at his name on your lips. “We still have plenty of daylight left,” he said.
You nodded, glancing at the bright blue sky through the skylights. “What else would you like to do?” you asked.
“It doesn’t really matter,” he said, his dark eyes meeting yours. “As long as I can spend the time with you, I couldn’t be happier.”
THE END — i’ll make up an ending, or post the ending if i’ve written it
Welp you're getting a made up ending because A Crystal in the Sand is at least 50 chapters away from being done SO
Enjoy the warm and fuzzies under the cut, and thanks for asking! <3
(The game if you want to play)
Gaara’s arms wrapped around Aki’s waist as he pulled her close. She glanced up at him with a fond smile before resting her head against his chest. They gazed out across the ocean, letting the sound of waves crashing on the beach soothe them as the sun descended past the horizon. He pressed a soft kiss onto the top of her head. “Aki?”
“Yes, Gaara?”
He squeezed her tightly. “Thank you for loving me.”
She let out a chuckle. “I’ve told you before, you don’t have to thank me, Gaara,” she said, idly tracing her fingers along his arm.
“I know,” Gaara replied. “But I’m grateful all the same.”
She reached up and tenderly stroked his cheek. “I’m grateful for you too,” she said. “I love you.”
It didn’t matter how many times she’d said it, it still made his heart swell. He closed his eyes, cherishing her tender caresses and fighting back the tears of joy burning at the corners of his eyes. He felt her shift in his lap, sitting up and turning to face him. When he opened his eyes, he was greeted by the most beautiful face he’d ever seen leaning in to kiss him, and he eagerly reciprocated her affection.
Some time later - hours or minutes, he wasn’t sure - they finally came up for air. Aki took a deep breath, then stood and offered him a hand to help him up. Shivering in the cool night air, they returned to their hotel room, happy to finally be together, and looking forward to what the future would bring them.
lately it's been fixing the current bort arc for my au dhbfjsf

Hello! I swore I sent you some for bingo but my account was previously flagged as explicit so maybe that's why?
Can we try Kankuro?
got it this time!
kankuro is a fun character i wish we got to see a little more of. not a huge fave but there's some aspects of him i can appreciate and the potential for me to throw out some angsty fic material maybe one day. i love making fun of his juggalo face paint and the cat hoodie though why DOES he look like that
