Is it just me, or does the War Chest feels like it is supposed to be set after the Exit Wounds?

I would say it's set before series 1 because Nisha says at the beginning that Toshiko has been working for Torchwood for a year.

What made it feel like it was after Exit Wounds to you?

All opinions mine only because i honestly can’t think how to answer this in an objective way soooo, from the ones i’ve Seen;

13, 2, 9, 1,11,3,10 

I don’t know where to put 12, ever. It depends what season we’re on. I want to deck him in S8 and i’ve never hated the doctor more than i did in kill the moon. As time goes on i really do hold affection for him though? He both places reasonably high And Very Low at the same time and it makes stuff like this hell. 

I would also like to specify 13 and 2 are kind of interchangeable in first and second, and that the gulf between 3 and 10 is so wide the evergiven would never have beached itself in That canal. I actually like 11 a lot, but i can never Really get over that ‘share ur genocide with humanity’ thing with the silence. 9 Loses points for the emotional manipulation of teenage girls. Honestly 3 doesn’t deserve such a low placing But it’s not lack of affection... It’s just somebody had to be there. 

Waiting for more Ruth!Doc. 

Dhawan master is my fave b/c he Nails the exact area the master should be in imo, irrefutably Terrible but also so much fun you want them around anyway, brings out fun things to watch in the protagonist, is actually sympathetic While still also being bad.

Upon my rewatch i didn’t dislike Simm as much as i remembered but he sure as hell wasn’t the fun kind of bad guy, i don’t feel bad for him, the sob story was ridiculous and he inspired nothing in 10 that was actually fun to watch. He was better with 12. idk i just think if u want ur bad guys to be characters we Like keep it to bad things we don’t fully comprehend on an emotional level like mass murder, not ‘shitty man abuses wife’. I comprehend that. That is not good. Like, they showed me Nothing that made me care about him as a character... Even his tearful reminiscing was just the whining of some white guy who used to have it all b/c of their loaded parents and is now sad they don’t. 

I refuse to rank Missy and Delgago against each other b/c i love them both a lot and find it hard to number it considering how Different the show is when they’re both in it. I mean, where the stakes are higher i find the master Needs to be more sympathetic in nu!who? Whereas in classic i am content to watch them but just a bit of a dick and enjoy it. But if they’re gonna succeed in genocides now i like that they rounded out the character more and made them have a few more facets. But i genuinely don’t feel that was needed in classic who, so it Is hard to rank. 

I Love Missy’s absolutely off the rails bonkers mode of operating, i love that she Does have reason and isn’t as crazy as she projects but for how reasonable she Can be to people and how she Can work with them, never make the mistake of thinking she views anybody but the doctor as an actual person with rights because she thinks everybody else are ants. She will stomp. She will not care. You can both trust her to work through a plan but not trust her at all and it makes watching so much fun. 

But Delgado just. Amazing. Him and 3 are Iconic.

“Believe in miracles and they will know your feelings” - the way this phrase is translated always makes my head hurt. I don’t know if it’s obvious to everyone or not, but it took me personally a decade of figuring out what it meant to say, so would you mind a translation note?

Even more than DGS1, I can't wait for you to play DGS2. You are going to have a field day. With just about everything. The only downside is - it is physiologically impossible to sustain the hype level for 12 hours straight.

Let’s pour one out for my “don’t know a smidge of Japanese” ass and the wait we’ll have to undergo before we can get to DGS2.

It’s actually 99% possible that Jove told Dhurke about Apollo’s birthday during their first (and only) meeting. I can imagine Dhurke spotting the infant Apollo in Jove’s arms and remarking how cute he is. He’d then proceed to ask when the baby’s birthday is, and Jove just nonchanantly replies, “Oh, it’s December 31.”

Dhurke’s reaction:

And then afterwards, Dhurke would mark Apollo’s birthday on the calendar for December 31, and then proceeded to pass on that information to Apollo once he was old enough to actually remember important dates and stuff. Apollo might have tried to forget about his childhood in Khura’in, but he sure as hell would never forget his DOB!

Don't do it, it's not worth it. It may seem clever at first, but there is absolutely zero payoff to any of Moffat's writing.

I appreciate the heads-up. Truly. That said, if I avoided all media with show-runners that will inevitably let me down and fail to give me any pay-off for my time and emotional investment in the characters I’d never watch anything. 

And besides, fanfic and fanvids make for the softest of cushions to fall upon.

Something that I've been thinking for a while, but with the recent discussion of the characters dying and/or being put on the back of the bus, I keep wondering if Patty still exists post Flashpoint. Julian has been around for... a year? before the beginning of season 3 (of course, no mention what he was doing in the original timeline), and he is in the meta taskforce. From the way Julian was talking back in ep 5, I'm tempted to think that Patty was not around in the new timeline.

What I hear: Julian hated Barry to start b/c instead of Patty and Barry, Julian and Barry dated and it ended horribly wrong b/c Zoom and bullshit, and Barry didn’t reveal his secret about being the Flash. Julian is still bitter about all the lying while they were dating and everyone thinks Barry is still bitter as well when he enters the post-Flashpoint timeline.

The only one who doesn’t realize/remember that Barry dated Julian is Barry himself.

Well, that’s how the conversation went:

Mick: You mean a good dog. That's all I am to you. An attack dog. Leonard: Now, that's not true. Sure, we both know you're not the sharpest tool in the shed, but that's why we're partners. Remember? Mick: You're right. I'm not a genius. [he throws the spear back at Amaya] But I'm no one's dog, Leonard. Not anymore. Leonard: Well. I guess you can teach an old dog new tricks. Mick: Undo this mess.

The “good boy” comment came after Amaya’s “I still believe in you”. That’s what I meant when I said Leonard had a big jealousy-induced stupidity moment.

Amaya opened herself up to Mick. These last two episodes (or rather since the season started), Mick’s problem was that he didn’t feel like he belonged anywhere. The legends don’t trust him, Len put a tracker on him (I assume Sara and Amaya told him), and both sides underestimate him - they treat him like an idiot and a brute that has to be controlled (in Len’s case, he doesn’t know about the years Mick spent as Chronos or his time with the legends, he’s operating based on the outdated original terms of their partnership: Len’s the brain and Mick the muscles). So, to hear that there was somebody that believed in him, despite everything that happened (despite the fact he betrayed her last episode by siding with the Legion), Mick needed that.

And I think Leonard, who knew Mick more than anyone, can see that she genuinely touched him. It’s at this point that he gets impatient (“Enough!”), and demands again that Mick hand over the spear. Mick just gives him a stubborn look like “really?”. The thing is, Len can’t really one-up Amaya here, this version of him isn’t capable of admitting to seeing Mick as a friend and not just his partner (his muscle), or of having the sort of faith in him that Amaya does (Len isn’t capable of just having faith in people). So he can see he’s losing Mick by the look on his face, he gets jealous and annoyed and drops that “like a good boy”, which I think is some sort of stupid attempt on his part at reestablishing the status quo, to remind Mick of how they work (that he’s supposed to listen to him not anyone else), ask him to stop thinking and do what Leonard says because he’s more intelligent than him and knows what’s best for them. He doesn’t like having to compete for Mick’s loyalty (or anyone’s affection).

As for the dog comment, he denies that that’s how he sees Mick at first, in answer to Mick’s accusation. And I think that’s true? Like in his head they have an equal relationship where Len does all the thinking because he’s the genius one. He only calls him a dog after Mick throws the spear at Amaya, betraying him for the second time in like 2 days? So he’s just lashing out.

(It’s kinda like when Mick called him a punk kid or whatever in S1, they’re not always nice to each other.)
