Shepherd's Balls This is similar to a recipe you can find in video form online, but of course I altered it just a bit. I browned ground beef, stirred in diced carrots and onions, generously seasoned it with salt, pepper, and garlic, and let if soften in a good bit of red wine. I also threw in some of my leftover BBQ Roux, because gravy is just what these bad boys needed! Next, I rolled it into balls of mashed potatoes (I used instant for quickness). After freezing them for 10-15 minutes (longer may have been better), I brushed on a little bit of egg and lightly covered them in flour before frying them in hot oil. Afterwards, I layered on some provolone cheese followed by mozzarella and baked it for about 15 minutes.
