I have (thankfully) seen this only a couple of times on my dash, but here is my general stance:

If your post says anything along the lines of “Reposting this so people have a version that wasn’t posted by Unnamed OP, who has rancid views regarding XYZ,” I’m not going to like or reblog your post. That is stealing. I don’t care what OP’s personal thoughts are; the fact you stole THIS one shows that a) you saw they CAN have thoughts you agree with, and b) you are so against this fact that you use their (usually unrelated) opinion to justify you reaping the benefits of their work without credit.

It is never okay to dehumanize someone, which is what you are doing when you pretend someone you dislike is incapable of having ideas you agree with. It is never okay to steal someone else’s work.

Alright let’s point it out, and don’t you dare argue with me about this.

So months ago, i was very active on tumblr, because it was the main site i though would be great to be, but i got into so much drama in it so i moved to DA, if you want to see me on DA here’s a link https://www.deviantart.com/squeetie18

But anyway. I really didn’t want to do this small call out to someone i forgot long ago but let’s do a point. Months ago, i just started practicing on my tablet, and i did a meme, well kinda, it was about a friend who i used to goof off with, i cannot find the drawing anymore since it got deleted along my old blog. So this one artist and yes i WILL name them and i do not care if they come to me asking to delete it but, Solaarester, a very popular Minecraft artist, came to me CLAIMING that i stole their meme i made a small reproduction of it i guess VVV

They came to my DM’s weeks later, and i bet someone noted them about it, and again claimed this meme as their own, however, this more felt like they got mad at me because i “Stole a pose”, Sorry Solaar but YOU CAN’T STEAL A POSE/MEME.

You should honestly know better and be more civil next time, and remember you can’t steal a meme/pose, and note also you can’t steal colors and species :>

Guys think of your actions before you do act, or else someone is gonna be upset and make a call out post about you :3 Oh and don’t take advantage of the person if they don’t know anything about art. Fucking be civil and understanding about art. Will be happy for you to read this Solaar, even IF you moved on from this, but stop it. You better have understood that you can’t steal a meme, but since you blocked me, have fun with your life, and if i hear of you claiming a pose or anything, i WILL redo a callout post of you, because you better have learn of your actions. Not don’t reply with stupid reasons if you don’t wanna expand your reputation to a bad one :3 Thanks for reading~

Fic Borrowing/Plagiarism

This has been going on for over a year now, and I am no closer to getting it addressed. This is q condensed/shortened version of my previous huge post, so that people may more easily read it.  

Following the publication of my fic Thicker Than Blood, I found a Harry Potter/One Piece crossover called The Emerald Rose. The fic’s scenes involving Dellinger bore significant resemblance to my fic. The author would later publish a fic called Blooming Family, which also contain similarities. (Blooming Family is an anthology about the Donquixote Family…so is Thicker Than Blood.) I’ve compiled a list of these similarities for documentation, which I would encourage people to read. These include but are not limited to:

- Dellinger being found by a henchman of Doffy’s who makes a Fishman identify him as Fighting Fish - who then calls Dellinger an abomination -Thicker Than Blood Ch1 // Emerald Rose Chapter 4 // Blooming Family Ch 5

- Dellinger rapidly regrowing and losing his teeth, biting and breaking people’s fingers (right down to the specifics of the executives pulling their hands away at how strong he is) - TTB Ch1 - Ch2 - Ch3 // ER Ch4

- Dellinger trying to eat food off Vergo’s face - TTB Ch2 // ER Ch5

- Dellinger picking up cannonballs as a toddler and thinking they are balls, throwing them at people - TTB Ch4 // ER Ch6 // BF Ch2

- Dellinger swearing as an infant before he can properly talk (mimicked with the author’s OC) - TTB Ch // BF Ch17

- Dellinger running around naked after a bath and interrupting Doffy meeting with weapons trafficker, (right down to the Family members being ready to take out their weapons) - TTB Ch4 // ER Ch6 // BF Ch7

- Small details such as Dellinger having a toy shark, Dellinger being shortened to “Dell” as a nickname. 

- Overarching main themes of the Family being misfits who support and care for each other. 

- Numerous Vocal quips I wrote for Jora (this is a whooolllee other post) 

I confronted her about using my work, and she claimed it was coincidence. She then put an “apology that our ideas are similar” in her fic.  I honestly did not believe that all this could just be chalked up to coincidence, but her writing out an “apology our ideas are similar” made me wonder if I was overreacting. 

And then she took three scenes from my fic/Jora’s vocal tics and put them in her next chapter. 

She has ignored all further attempts to contact her. She also has a significantly larger fanbase than me…because surprise, she writes Harry Potter stuff, and I write about Dellinger. I do not want her harassed or bullied, I just want her to own up to it and fix it. To anyone who has read Thicker Than Blood and liked it, or anyone who takes an interest plagiarism - any help in the matter would be appreciated. I posted all those chapter links for a reason, so people can see the similarities for themselves.  As it is not blatant word-for-word plagiarism, I have limited recourse. Reblogs, or reaching out to the author politely, would be hugely appreciated.

So there is this blog, @winxmania102 who steals a lot of the works of @emilyscartoons and reposts them. I think they are basically just a blog full of reposts of art and even screenshots of reblogs. Dear @winxmania102, it would take you literal seconds to just find the original post and /reblog/ it instead of stealing it and expecting not to be found out. Just… be a good trooper and stop stealing other people's work so you can get notes. A simple reblog is so much easier and so much better in the long run.

So, here's my big take-away about Teeeee-Moooo, Ali Express, and other large bulk distributor companies that have been moving into consumer shopping sites in the last 10 years:

TL;DR: They're bad for small businesses, and I don't want any part of them.

That's it. That's the take-away. I don't want to get into Nasdaq trades, market shares, Spyware, or anything else. I literally don't understand most of that. But that's OK, because people with logic can see the argument sitting right here in front, and understand why it's bad.

Small businesses normally have 1-5 people working in them. They're usually artists and/or self-employed, and if they're lucky enough to have started their business prior to all of (gestures vaguely) this, they probably make an OK income on it, as long as they work 7 days a week, and their roommate or significant other has a regular job.

They put up one-of-a-kind or very small-run set items for sale on small websites similar to Etsy or Ko-fi, and try to make a buck or two from the sale.

Here's where it gets nasty, though: Because Capitalism is what it is, and we have been trained since infancy to look for the "best deal" and "cheapest price". Quite honestly, we aren't getting paid enough ourselves to support small businesses. So, instead, we start searching for a less expensive option of what we want.

Since these predatory companies use search algorithms to figure out what people are interested in, it downloads pics of what is being searched for, and the companies start paying employees pennies to mass-produce what had been original or small-run pieces, and sells them for a loss in the hope to outlast the artists who created it in the first place.

Since they work round the clock, and since it can take a while for small businesses to catch up to them, by the time a cease and desist has been filed against the company, they've already sold the lower cost pieces to other companies to *also* mass produce, not to mention making sales to people looking for a "good deal"...

I am not a business major. I'm not even a great small business owner. But I logically know what is bad for small businesses, and these types of companies are exactly it. This isn't entrepreneurship - this is piracy, plain and simple.
