I thought he was a Peterbilt, but where the hell are his smokestacks? Is he something else after all?

What kind of bug is this? Or kind of caterpillar or whatever? Lol my 4 yr old son wants to know
What we know about this little package: it's made by Siemens. There's German on the lid that says "Caution Don't Bump" (or something like that). The box is cardboard with a leatherette covering and blue velvet inside. It is custom made for these objects. The items inside are metal with little glass viewports. They are serialized.
It seems like these items may be oil-filled capacitors for an oscilloscope. They were in The Basement (and before that, the Dad Basement) for who knows how long.
No idea on date, or who originally owned them. And what's that symbol on the bottom? The one with the sideways umbrella with a 34 on it?
