So extraordinary, in fact, that it is considered to be one of the most original towns to visit in the whole Biella province.⁣ ⁣ Dotted with artistic buildings and evocative towers, this is not the usual mountain village you would expect to find.⁣ ⁣ Its true splendour came about at the end of the 1800s when the wealthy Federico Rosazza began the construction of what is now the castle of the town. ⁣ Canon EOS 250D | 64mm | 1/320s | f/7.1 | ISO 100⁣ Taken on 17/02/2021.⁣ ⁣ Walk down your average street in Italy and you'll almost certainly find a wonderful row of balconies—some beautifully decorated with colourful plants and flowers, others left empty but used by residents to identify their home from the street.⁣ ⁣ In Italy, a balcony is not just a part of the house; it's a way for people to experience and enjoy the outside world within the confines of their homes while relaxing and basking in the sun in winter or enjoying the pleasant night weather in summer. And a way to express individuality. Take in the views. Even to people-watch.⁣ ⁣ Today was a market day in Trino Vercellese, a small town located in the south of the Vercelli province and not far at all from the River Po. With all the market stalls taking up the historic centre, it wasn't an easy task for me to capture the town's architectural splendours—until I looked up and marvelled at the wonderful row of balconies that match the colours of the shutters.⁣ ⁣ Italians really do take great pride in their urban neighbourhood and community. Do you remember hearing them sing loudly and proudly from their balconies in an effort to keep up the morale?
