there is a party of sorts. non-descript. typical.

and as it goes with most parties, here is our golden boy in the heart of the heat. in his hands are two cups, one for him, and perhaps another for his lady love. he balances them carefully, and so cautious is he that he digs his digits into its plastic red, so hard that it threatens to misshapen.

but that is beside the point of our story.

see, every story worth telling holds a twist, a plot drop to enrapture its audience and keep them leaning forward on the edge of the seat.

and as for this twist?

why here, a man with dark eyes and a darker heart. within the flecks of his irises lie the kind of wicked flames festering within the bellies of beasts, so frightful that it calls to every knight’s clichéd heroism and forces them to draw their sharpened sword.

( and why, it just so happens that within our golden boy’s vessels lie the blood of white knights in gallant armour. )

so here is the scene: in the midst of the waltz to his dear princess with her rose-scented napkin dangled between dainty fingers, kim hanbin bumps against the beast’s shoulder and down, down, down do his guarded cups fall. he hisses through his teeth as the drinks splash and stain his shoes. typically, that is the most he’d let himself react, but as he turns to meet the perpetrator with an apology balancing on the tip of his tongue, the beast he sees instead leaves something within him boiling and festering, too. he swallows his sorrys and draws his knives in the form of barred teeth.

( this is the blood of his forefathers, he will tell you. the blood of knights who are made to rescue their damsels.

but perhaps, there is more to our white knight than meets the eye. perhaps, this is also something quite deadly. perhaps, within him lies also the ungodly fire dripping from a dragon’s fangs, co-existing. mayhap, overpowering. )

“hey,” he calls, drags out the pause, “watch your step.”

the words leave his lips in little less than a snarl, and as for his usual humility, it has since been purged and spilt on the floor. no, kim hanbin meets yoongi’s eyes straight on, an unspoken challenge between rash combatants.
