Today's #mmfmonday post has me feeling all the feels. I pulled out my #iksfa shirt for the memories and did my second to last training set before the NY Open on Saturday. I can't believe this is already my fourth time competing at this competition. Four years ago @hayestronaut helped me step on the platform for the first time in LIC and here I am back again. This time I will snatch because I intend to qualify for the world championships in Ireland this year and this time I will represent #orionstrengthguild with pride. I am grateful to @rsl32 for his years of coaching and to @moor178 for transitioning me to snatch. Have no fear I will be back to claim my CMS in long cycle at some point in the future. I've been a bit quiet on social media this week. Lots going on! It feels great to be going fast with the 16kg in training. I made the tough, but smart choice, to not attempt CMS with 20kg on 12/13 and instead to hit a competition PR with 16kg. I know this is the best option for me for this competition and I feel great about it. I look forward to continuing to train for CMS and for how healthy and strong my body feels right now. Remembering that the path to achieving goals of all kinds is not linear. #ilovekettlebells #iksfa #whyishaklee

Here is the hand switch from my long cycle set with 18kg today. I have to thank @drpsalinas for his magician #art treatment on Wednesday this week...my left forearm didn't hurt at all! Even though I have completed a 10min set in competition with 20kg before I have always failed early on 10min sets with 18kg in training. Today I completed a pain free 10min #oalc #kettlebell set with 18kg. 87reps! This is a #pr by a good amount and even though I was 3 reps short of the goal of 90reps I am excited that I have finally gotten past my mental block around the 18kg Kettlebell. Well, my phone video camera crapped out early but I didn't! 7 continuous minutes of static holds with an extra swing with 18kg and only one hand switch. Feels good after having to bail early on my sets yesterday. Not every day can be exactly as programmed. I went into the US Nationals on Saturday very prepared to hit CMS with a minimum of 80reps in 10 minutes. Unfortunately I let nerves get the better of me and a last minute weight cut didn't help either. I struggled a bit in this set and it definitely wasn't pretty, but I held on for a new PR of 71reps with the 20kg Kettlebell - 28 right and 43 left - in only 9 minutes with an early hand switch after my right arm failed. My previous PR was 62reps in a full 10 minutes at the NY Open a few months ago. Looking forward to getting back to training soon and attempting CMS again in December in New Jersey!

Wednesday's workout with 22kg @lbkettlebellclub ! It is incredible that my body is feeling so strong a week out from nationals. Acheiving my CMS rank is looking possible at this point but mostly I am excited to be stronger and to be enjoying training!
