Okay, yes. I am SO glad SU ended in a positive way, but can we talk about this scene?

This scene where Steven tries to just... kinda wipe out those memories and pretend like none of that happened? Where he literally tried to act like this is normal? That he said "Oh, I'm Steven Universe! I help people" and had that thought in his head, just so he could atleast kinda cope with the shit he went through? This scene was so heartbreaking and I don't understand why I see no one talking about it. The way he saw his diamond eyes, said stuff like "that car accident with dad didn't happen"/"I didn't try to shatter white diamond" is just so... sad. This was literally him having an identity crisis. Not knowing who he is anymore, being so messed up in the head to the point where he doesn't know what is real and what is not. Or rather, he doesn't want those things to be real. This scene was so sad to watch and made me seriously panic. The thought of how Steven just keeps all those thoughts in his head to the point where he feels like a monster and it all just suddenly comes out made me so depressed. It was so bizarre and had such a weird vibe. After that he goes back to homeschool and tries to help or make everything "better", which he fails at.

Then the CGs, Connie and his dad confront him about it.

Which causes him to snap and let everything out, due to holding it in for way too long. He just confesses everything, and literally loses his mind. He says how twisted it is that he thinks he can just "make everything better" with his healing powers. All these thoughts have been stuck in his head for too long. All these thoughts made him feel worse and worse. To the point where he feels like a monster.

To the point he actually becomes one.
