a remake of my first 911 gifset in celebration of my one year anniversary in the fandom! thank you for welcoming me with open arms one year ago today, you don't know how much i needed to find this space at the time. thank you ❤️
If they ever do get to the Vecna arc on the animated series, I do wonder if they will include Grog drawing The Void, because it does really upset the mood, but also it is Iconic™.
Okay now that I’ve had even more time to process I’m thinking about the dads in Smile For Me.
I might be like 2 years late on this but uhhh the only known related characters in the Habitat are two parent-child duos, and in both cases it’s father-child.
Habit talks about both of his parents but only specifies anything about his dad. The trauma slideshow showcases The Incident with, specifically, his father.
You can talk to Trencil at one point and he’ll mention Boris “blathering on about his father and lost innocence”.
Trencil followed Nat, but Habit hired Jimothan. It’s unclear if he did so before or after Parsley joined.
One thing Trencil and Jimothan both have in common is devoted/enthusiastic, but often misguided, support of their kids. (Jimothan might not seem the most sensitive soul, but he’s pretty open about caring for Parsley and even notes his concern that his son always seems “like he’s about to dang blow up!”, that is, he’s concerned about the stress he can tell Parsley is under.)
Further, both have quests that involve bringing these families closer together again, when there was a belief from one party that the other didn’t love them or truly support them.
(Also thinking abt how the 11/22 ending leaves Parsley and Trencil behind and each is vaguely aware of their family being missing but can’t remember...)
Another thing: Habit is continually referred to as “green”, most of his self-portraits are green, this is a game where ppl being green (or purple, or blue, or-) is not just a stylistic touch but a canon feature.
Jimothan and Trencil are both green or green-ish - enough that I feel comfortable accepting that they’re green.
And both of their kids have red hair (not the biggest marker in a game where half the cast seems to be redheads, but still).
I’m just thinking about how Habit feels, watching these green dads (eventually) properly nurture and connect with and care for their kids...
