“(Y/N)!” You winched slightly at the sound of Barry’s boisterous voice as he zoomed over to you, slinging an arm around your shoulders in his usual friendly way. “Vic and I have a plan to help you and Arthur out.” You raised a brow at him, silently asking him what the hell he was talking about while displaying your disbelief.
“Uh huh. Does this plan of yours involve dolphins, by any chance?” Barry stayed silent for a moment, clearly attempting to come up with something that didn’t involve dolphins, and you laughed, shaking your head. “It’s nice of the two of you, but there’s really nothing to help out with. Now, if you excuse me, Diana promised to show me some of her Amazon tricks.” You went to leave, but in the blink of an eye, Barry had his arms around you in a hug. “Uh...Barry?”
“In case you don’t make it back alive! She’ll be careful, but this is Diana we’re talking about.” You rolled your eyes at him, reciprocating his hug before letting go and heading to the training gym. Unbeknownst to you, Arthur wasn’t too far away, silently fuming from the side...
A few hours later, after Diana had thoroughly wore you out, you were in the kitchen searching for something to eat. Who knew sword-fighting could wear someone out that much? Well, you did, but you were careless when it came to eating properly before and after training.
“Looking good, (Y/N). Training go well with Diana?” Victor said as he waltzed into the kitchen. You vaguely wondered how he could move so effortlessly with all that metal, but you supposed it was due to the Mother Box and some other alien tech you would never understand.
“She knows how to work a person, but yes. Almost managed to beat her but I think she just let me think I was gonna win. For such a nice person, she sure it mean at times.” Victor chuckled, glancing around the corner before returning his attention to you. You were struggling to grab the box of cereal that somehow ended up on the very top shelf.
“I’m gonna kill Bruce! He knows I eat this, too, and yet he continues to put it where I can’t reach it! I should just start buying my own stash,” you grumbled, about to climb onto the counter to reach the impossibly high shelf when a metal arm reached out from behind you and grabbed the box for you. You looked over your shoulder to see Victor there, smiling down at you and holding the box out to you. “Uh...thanks, Vic. Not creepy at all...”
“Anytime, (Y/N),” he said smoothly and you were about to question what had gotten into him and Barry when Arthur suddenly appeared out of nowhere and marched straight up to you, about dragging you away from Victor.
“Hey, Arthur, what - mmph!” You about dropped the box of cereal when Arthur spun you around and placed his lips firmly on yours, cradling your head in his hands. Your eyes fluttered shut and you wrapped your arms around him, running your free hand through his hair. Damn, this is even better than you imagined.
“Barry! He did it! The plan worked!” Victor shouted suddenly, and you heard a flash go off but you could care less as he ran off to go show Barry, because it was about damn time.
