good cat updateeee
YAYYYYY SHES AT 24% in her hemocrit. still low end but upper low and thats higher than we've seen in a while, which means her last tranfusion finally held.
she's gotta get up to 30% and then I can relax but this is really good. See I knew the steroids would work. Fuck that first vet for trying to deny us and wasting PRECIOUS DAYSSS
The fact that her blood vials showed agglutination AND hemolyzation on a manually checked sample just says so much to me that it's IMHA and Im kinda pissed at the last vet for being so against steroids. Steroids were proven to work before!! we did steroids behind the doctors back and it worked so well. The only way to stop it is by immunosuppression
we were wasting precious time not treating her because "immunosuppression is not the best". It WOULD be the best option in this case because her body is actually TOO good at killing foreign cells that its mistaking her regular blood cells as foreign and misfiring. She was gonna kill all of it if nothing happens at all. And guess what! Vet #2 gave her steroids. because we were fucking right!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What pisses me off again is that pepper was at 14% hemocrit and she was really about to send us home with her. I was literally like "she is literally not going to make it through the night bro" and FINALLY referred us to internal medicine. we were told at the hospital that 15 or below is emergency transfusion worthy. BITCHHHJHH my baby could have died :( anyway the hardest is over, shes getting treated, things are looking up. she was really bright and energetic this morning. shes sleeping now but not in a scary way. i know her sleeping patterns now. phew
i can finally breath a bit, until like. idk she has a short decline. but imha is known for causing short declines before shooting back up. itll take a while. but for now pepper is ok <3
here she is smacking up a churu
the fact that she even had energy to walk around the car made me so... ;_; ahhh
I posted an update on the GoFundMe page, but the quick synopsis is that Dipper’s health seems to have turned for the worse overnight. Our usual vet is closed for the holidays, so we’re rushing to the emergency vet that’s open 24/7 to see what’s wrong. They cost triple the amount of any normal vet, but we’ll gladly go into debt to figure out how to help our baby.
If you can share, or send us good vibes, we would be forever grateful. Thank you.

Emergency Ko-Fi Commissions OPEN
Hey guys, so long story short, my puppy, Dipper, was diagnosed with IMHA, an immune disorder that comes out of nowhere in dogs and cats and makes the body attack itself. We knew right away something was wrong when he wasn't acting like himself, and brought him to the vet. We found out that his red blood cell count was severely low, which, if we had waited any longer to take him in, could have caused his organs to start shutting down. He is home with us now, tired and weak because of the disease, but he has to take very strong steroids to help his body start making blood cells again to replace the ones he lost. We will be taking him back to the vet many more times to monitor his healing process, and, if we're lucky, this will only last a couple of months. However, we were told that in a lot of dogs, this lasts for years. His medication is a bit more expensive; affordable, but more expensive than we can budget since I'm trying to pay my own medical bills right now from a blood clot I had back in November. My own ultrasound bill is still over $1,000 on its own, let alone the medication and many doctors visits I've been paying for, and still need. So, basically, I'm asking for help. Every penny I raise via Ko-Fi will go towards Dippers bills, and if there's any leftover, I will use it to pay my own medical bills. My fiance' and I had to spend all of our wedding savings on Dipper's first vet visit, and are debating on putting our wedding on hold just to make sure he gets better. So, every dollar counts. Thank you in advance <3

Şahane :)
