Size Healthy had its first book club mtg last night! It was such a blessing. We are reading A Course in Weight Loss by Marianne Williamson and yesterday was basically the introduction. We talked about the mind and body and the myths behind diet vs lifestyle. The journey to losing weight is only hard when you physically try to do it with the other two moving parts; which are the mind and the spirit. The mind tells the body what to do and depending on where you are mentally will determine if you are depending on God or your flesh. Flesh never wins because we always have that stop and go mentality. However when we give it to God we can lean and depend on his strength. Your wall prevents you from Moving forward because of your inability to deal with the issues that cause the weight gain. Your body is the effect and your mind is the cause. I've had the worst menstrual cycles for as long as I could remember but it wasn't until 6 years ago that I decided to do something about it. I was losing a lot of blood which made me tired and left with no energy; not to mention I am anemic too. I had blood clots the size of quarters and when they passed it was painful. I decided to talk to the doctor about it. I was given two options: NovaSure or Hysterectomy. My mother and husband thought it was too early to have a hysterectomy so I decided I would try the NovaSure. It was agreed that if that didn't work we would look at the alternate option. So I had the NovaSure which is lasering the uterus so you either have a light menstrual cycle or no cycle at all. Just my luck I have not had one for about six years. I get no notice but when I start to want something sweet which isn't normal I try to find healthy options. Sooo..... I have cravings and I am not a chocolate person but I do love carbs so I opt to make granola today to satisfy my craving. 2 cups of granola 1/2 c unsweetened coconut 1/2 c walnuts 1/2 c honey 1/2 c natural pb 1/2 c sugar free Hershey morsels Combine the dry mixture together Mix the pb and honey together and melt it then pour it over the dry mixture. Stir everything together and place in a dish. Put in the fridge to chill and then eat.
