lucy hangs out with jet and droy regularly btw - it started with her wanting to get levy and gajeel alone, but they get along really well and a real friendship has grown between them. droy and lucy talks about plants and books, and lucy loves hearing about jet’s magic and vice versa, they often end up hanging out for hours (and then natsu comes along and swears he can run faster than jet so they race and obviously natsu never wins. when happy uses his super speed they almost win, but jet loves to flaunt his 1st place)
Happy Gruvia Day!
I hope everyone has a wonderful day! Here’s a little piece I wrote in honor of our favorite couple! <3
Beautiful Babies
“Hello, sunshine,” Levy purred, leaning over her tiny newborn daughter. The entire guild had gathered around her in the guildhall to meet their new little member. “Yes! Hello, dear.” The script mage was laughing. Her daughter staring up at her with wide, dark eyes. Juvia was in awe of the tiny little girl. Her fingers curled into little fists, her dark hair already springing up into little curls. She was beautiful. Juvia had always imagined having children with Gray-sama, but now, with Galena here, she could see it even more clearly.
Juvia had been one of the first to meet Galena, only a few days after the baby girl had been born. Gajeel had asked if she would come and meet her. When Levy had lifted the tiny baby into Juvia’s arms… she could picture herself holding her own baby so easily. If only one day…
Now, in the guildhall, everyone was ooh-ing and ah-ing over the new Redfox baby. Gray was leaning over the table, on the other side of Levy from Juvia. He wasn’t saying anything, his face was almost expressionless. Why is Gray-sama always so hard to read? But then he glanced up, and their eyes met, and something in his expression softened. He smiled. And her heart skipped a beat.
When things calmed down, she couldn’t stop thinking about it. Even as the rest of the guild members spread out after getting their chance to be close to Galena and Levy, Juvia couldn’t get that expression out of her head.
“Hey,” his voice startled her where she was sitting across from Levy and Lucy. The two other girls had been laughing and talking. Lucy was holding Galena. Levy must have, at some point, passed the baby into Lucy’s arms, and Juvia hadn’t even noticed. Now, Gray was standing above her, his expression pretty normal. She longed to see that smile again. What did it mean?
“Gray-sama!” She smiled, though she had faltered for a moment.
“I was wondering if you wanted me to walk you home.” Lucy and Levy’s conversation fell silent. Gray had never asked her something like that in front of other guild members.
“R-right! Yes! Juvia… Juvia would love to!” She stood quickly, barely remembered to wave to Levy and Lucy, and followed Gray outside into the snow. It was cold. Gray let Juvia reach out and wrap her arms around his, pulling him close. She knew he wasn’t one for public displays of affection, but now that they were outside the guild he seemed to relax.
“Galena is darling, isn’t she?” Juvia said, trying to lighten the silence with some conversation. Gray smiled.
“Yeah, she is.” Then his expression changed, and he stopped walking. The snow was falling down gently. It was late night. Not many people were in the streets. But even under the light of just the flickering street lamp, Juvia could see he was conflicted. “Juvia?”
“Yes, darling?” she whispered.
“Have you ever…” he paused, and then he pulled away from her to face her, but he didn’t touch her. He managed to whisper—his voice hoarse, “Have you ever thought about having kids?”
Juvia took in a breath, “G-Gray-sama!”
“I know, I’m… I’m sorry I—”
“Of course, Juvia has!” She replied, gleefully, reaching out to grasp his hands. “Juvia has imagined many times what they might look like, if they will have your eyes or Juvia’s! If they will sleep well through the night, or if Juvia will have to rock them to sleep and hold them close. She wonders—”
“You have.” Gray murmured, interrupting her, his eyes wide.
“Gray-sama,” she whispered, “Why do you ask?”
“Because…” his cheeks turned a bright shade of scarlet, “In… in… in…” he cleared his throat, “More recently, I’ve thought about it too.”
“More recently?” Juvia beamed, and then she threw her arms around him. “Aw! Gray! You want to have a baby with Juvia! Don’t worry, my darling! We can get started right away—”
“Relax!” He gasped, managing to peel her off of him. “We’re in the middle of the street!”
She felt her cheeks heat up, and she glanced away sheepishly. “Of course.”
“But… I think… Gajeel and Levy have a baby, and you know I’ll always be by your side right?” He asked, glancing up at her hesitantly.
“Of course,” Juvia nodded. He leaned in and stole a kiss, cupping her cheek.
“What I mean to say is… maybe we should leave it up to fate. And if we have a baby, you and I, I think that might be nice.” She could hardly believe her ears. She let out a laugh and threw her arms around him again, pressing kiss after kiss to his lips, and jaw, and cheek. He let out a laugh, a real laugh, and held her close. “Hey, hey, come on. Let’s get home. I don’t want you freezing to death.” Gray entwined his fingers with Juvia’s leading them down the street, all while Juvia’s thoughts were going a mile a minute.
“We will make very beautiful babies, Gray!” she giggled. Gray looked back with a roll of his eyes. Then he chuckled.
“Guess I can’t really disagree with facts.”
Idea for the deaf au- a very drunk natsu having a serious conversation with happy in rapid fire sign language about which chemicals should never be mixed together for fireworks. And Gajeel records the whole thing :)

All of my content about Deaf Natsu can be found under the deaf natsu au tag, and the main writing pieces under deaf!natsu
Thank you guys for all the love towards this!! It really means a lot <3
Gajeel didn’t know he had gotten into this mess, but he didn’t really give a shit.
One second he had been sitting in his dorm, headphones and glasses on as he tried to power through an essay about the dangers of bias in media that was due in two weeks, and the next thing he knew his fucking living space was being overrun by his dumbass cousin and his friends.
Not that they weren’t also Gajeel’s friends, but at the time of Gray and Loke throwing open his door and pulling in a confused Natsu clutching an apathetic Happy, they were decidedly not on Gajeel’s favourite people list. Loke had been dramatically bitching about the unfairness of Natsu’s alcohol tolerance. Gray had been demanding Gajeel disprove Natsu’s obvious lie. Happy had meowed at Lily and remained limp in Natsu’s arms.
It was a clusterfuck.
And that was before Cobra and Laxus had come out of his room, half dressed and pissed at the interruption.
Now though, Gajeel was sitting on the chair Laxus had stolen from the engineering lounge, recording his dumbass cousin for both blackmail and Lucy.
“No, of course Lily, Acacia gum is the much better binder, but dextrin is so much easier to get and cheaper! But then if you want the colours of strontium or sodium to stand out more then you’ll need a twenty-five - seventy-five mix too-” he continued on, signs sloppy and never fully finishing before moving onto the next word, Gajeel only following along because he had grown up with the dipshit. Happy and Lily sat in front of where he had ended up cross-legged on the floor, fully immersed in tracking Natsu’s flailing movements.
“What the fuck is he even saying?” Loke asked, half sprawled in Gray’s lap and their feet somehow not mangled for landing in Cobra’s lap. They were nursing a beer, having called it quits after four and refusing to take part in the shots Gray had all but shoved down Natsu's throat. Gajeel would fear for his cousin’s liver if he wasn’t half convinced the idiot was indestructible. He was quietly proud that Natsu wasn’t dead after nearly twelve shots of fire whiskey and a half dozen beers, but fuck if he wasn’t the drunkest Gajeel had ever seen him.
“I ‘unno,” Gray slurred, just as entranced with Natsu’s signing as the cats, “but I think it’s givin’ me dizzy.”
“That’s ‘cus you tried to match him shot for shot you idiot,” Laxus said flatly. Cobra was tucked under his arm, and Gajeel knew he was only pretending to be pissy about having people in his dorm. For as much as a bitch-face that Laxus had, he was more comfortable with people around, even if that was drunk-off-their asses college brats.
“Oh,” Gray said, nodding to himself at Laxus’ wise words.
Gajeel snorted, focusing back on Natsu with his phone. He was doing that thing where he made odd noises, as if he were trying to speak every fifth word, Gajeel thrown back to when they were twelve and Natsu was trying to explain that there was a cat stuck in a tree root system but couldn’t think of the words over the racing of his thoughts. Not that Gajeel had been able to focus on anything other than how bloody his hands were, Gajeel finally understanding when Natsu had eventually dragged him to the spot where he had been trying to dig through the thorny brambles around the crying kitten.
A kitten that would grow up to be the one in front of him today. And the one that pounced on Natsu’s hands, gnawing on his knuckle as Natsu fell backward with a loud squawk. Cobra and Loke burst out into laughter, Gray slow as he processed what was happening and Laxus cracking a grin. Natsu gave up his debate over firework internal workings to play with his cat, cooing happily when Lily jumped into the fray, chewing on a piece of Natsu’s hair.
“Lucy’s gonna love this,” Gajeel mumbled. And if Lucy loved it, then she’d definitely show it to her friends. Which included Levy. Not that Gajeel cared what Shrimp thought of him, except she sent the cutest emojis in the weirdest fucking way...
Gajeel grunted, phone falling from his hand by the heavy weight that crashed over his shoulders. He glared at the sly grin Cobra shot him, trying to be as intimidating as he could before his pseudo-cousin could open his dumbass mouth.
“You that desperate to talk to her that you’d manipulate poor little Bunny Girl with pictures of Pinky and the cats?” Cobra teased. Gajeel shoved his hand in his face, pushing him away with a curse. Cobra snapped at his hand, sneering as he slunk back to the sofa and resumed his place under Laxus’ arm. Gajeel shared a look with his roommate, silently asking why he had to fuck someone that was a certifiable sociopath. Laxus shrugged in a way that Gajeel interpreted as ‘the dick’s good’.
“Oi, is Natsu gonna like, die, ‘cus I don’t need that on my conscious or college record,” Loke called. Gajeel snorted again, picking up his phone and tucking it in his pocket.
“Nah, but he ain’t gonna be happy tomorrow I can tell you fuckers that.”
Loke made a face at Gajeel, their glasses half smushed into their face but doing nothing to fix it. Loud snoring filled the room, Gajeel turning back to where Natsu laid flat on the floor. Lily pawed at one of the piercings in Natsu’s upper ear, a dangly star that he had stolen from Lucy’s jewelry store. Happy curled on Natsu’s chest, nose to his chin.
Gajeel groaned as he stood up. Natsu would have to pay him back for this through begging and doing his science req homework for a month, all semester if the dipshit threw up in his bed.

Lucy sighed, smoothing her outfit in front of her mirror one more time. She didn’t know where they were going, but she dressed up in a cranberry off the shoulder dress topped with a silver necklace and black heels. She hoped that she wouldn’t be taller than Natsu, but knew that even if she was it wouldn’t be a blow to his ego. He was a confident guy that wouldn’t be shaken by something as small as his girl being taller than him.
His girl, Lucy thought with a smile. That was finally her. After months of pining and flirtation, they were finally going on their first date today.
Anxiety ripped through her as she applied her makeup and she felt the cold press into the back of her skull. What if he didn’t like her? What if he decided not to go on another date?
Lucy curled her hands into a fist at herself, realizing that this was ridiculous. Natsu would never leave her, no matter the trial or problem. He would always be by her side.
Exhaling, she unfurled her fists and turned the doorknob to exit her room with a shaking hand. Opening the door, she exited her room to find Gray and Gajeel sitting on the couch with cups of coffee between them.
Black coffee.
They only drank that when it was a serious problem, like the time that Lucy almost got a black eye at work. They were so mad then that Natsu stomped to her work with Gray and Gajeel in tow only to find that the man had already been arrested by police–and punched by Juvia, who was also detained for the night. Thankfully, Gray was able to convince the officers to let her go and succeeded, leading Juvia to vow never to leave his side.
The two men turned to face Lucy, but when she saw the looks on their faces she was shocked. Their eyes were gentle, but firm; by the look in their eyes, it seemed that they were talking about something of importance.
“Hey, Lucy,” Gray said with a soft smile, patting the couch cushion next to him and motioning her over. Confused, Lucy let him continue before she finally complied, sitting down next to him with her hands folded in her lap.
“Salamander has it in his head that he has a date with you tonight,” Gajeel interjected after a few moments of silence, smirking like the thought of it was a joke.
“He does,” Lucy replied with a smile of her own. The men’s eyes grew slowly as they shared a look. Something was going on, she just knew it.
“Natsu is our friend,” Gray began slowly, crossing his arms over his chest, “but we won’t hesitate to smack him around if needed.”
Gajeel barked out a laugh in response, covering his mouth when Lucy glared at the both of them.
“Listen, guys. I know you’re worried about me and all, but I’ve got this. Natsu’s sweet, and kind, and he wouldn’t do anything to hurt me,” Lucy said with a sigh, running her hand through her hair. Was violence the only way to solve things for these guys?
“He’s a guy,” Gajeel replied with a chuckle.
“So?”
“So,” Gray said, putting a hand on Lucy’s shoulder, “men are dogs. Even ones like Natsu who are too stupid to have their brains in their di–”
The doorbell rang, signifying the end of their conversation. Someone was at the door and neither Gajeel or Gray moved to answer it. Lucy scowled, annoyed that the men couldn’t get themselves out of their comfy seats.
Levy wasn’t due to be here for another three hours for her date with Gajeel. And Juvia was working today. So was Cana. And none of the other girls knew her address. Lucy became confused, but answered the door anyway.
“Natsu?” Lucy asked when she opened it, her brows furrowing in confusion.

Lucy awoke the next morning with a tickle of hair in her face. At first, she pushed it away, thinking it was her own. Her bedhead had a mind of its own at times, and often she would find herself buried in a pile of blonde hair when she woke up from a bad dream.
But when she heard a yelp from the other side of the bed after she flicked the hair away, Lucy sat straight up and screamed. Who the hell was in her bed?
Searching her covers for signs of life, she found a familiar piece of fabric lying next to her. A checkered piece of fabric. Growling, she dragged it up and saw that Natsu was sleeping soundly next to her. Apparently he hadn’t woken up when he made that god-awful noise, which was amazing on its own.
“Mornin’ Luce,” Natsu mumbled groggily, and Lucy narrowed her eyes at her roommate.
“What the hell,” she began, her voice becoming angrier by the word, “are you doing in my bed?”
Natsu yawned, sitting up. “You practically pulled me into bed with you last night. I went to check on you to see if you were okay and you grabbed me by the hand and yanked me into bed. You really wanted me to stay, didn’t ya Luce?”
“That doesn’t matter now.” Lucy didn’t like the feeling of her face reddening, so she turned away. “I’m still sleeping. Get out.”
“But you’re not sleeping now,” Natsu said, blinking a few times like he was confused.
“I said, get out,” Lucy hissed, and she kicked Natsu by his back out of her bed. What did he think he was doing, sleeping in the same bed as her? Why did she decide to just wear a big t-shirt to bed? And why did he look so damn cute with his ruffled bedhead?
“Luce,” Natsu began, but Lucy leaped out of bed and shoved him out of her room.
“Natsu, you can’t just barge into a woman’s room in the middle of the night. What I-I slept naked or something?”
“I’ve already seen you naked, Luce, so it wouldn’t be much of a problem,” Natsu said, and Lucy exhaled through her nose angrily.
“Just stay out of my room. Got it?” Lucy slammed the door and flopped onto her bed to fall back asleep again. Huffing, she rolled over to where Natsu slept the night before and closed her eyes. Seconds later, they popped back open again while she sniffed the side of her pillow that Natsu’s head rested on.
It smelled like pine and firewood, and she realized she quite liked the smell. She would have to go into Natsu’s room and figure out what cologne he used. It smelled woodsy and spicy and fiery all at once, which pretty much summed up Natsu himself.
‘Natsu,’ Lucy thought before sinking into a deep sleep, ‘Why do you have to be so moronic yet smell so good?’

Lucy knew next to nothing about rugby. She knew that people could get easily injured while playing the sport: their arms could get broken or their faces badly beaten. She even knew someone who had their foot in a cast after all the bones in their foot were crushed. If she was honest, she cared little about the sport.
But she cared so much about one person that played it.
Natsu Dragneel had been her one and only crush all throughout high school. She entered into class one day like normal, and during a boring lecture she peered out the window and saw him throwing around a ball with his teammates. His rose colored hair shone in the sunlight and stood out against the rest of the hues of brown and black, catching her attention right away. After he tossed the ball to a teammate, Natsu looked up and saw her staring at him. He waved and smiled, which stole her heart and further took her attention away from class.
From that moment on, Natsu knew that they were destined to be friends. Yelling a quick goodbye to his friends, he bounded up the steps and began to search for her classroom. After a few moments of hunting, he burst into the room and asked who the ‘weird blonde girl who was starin’ at me,’ was. Natsu’s green eyes stared into hers when the entire class turned and gaped at Lucy, and a grin spread across his face as he strode toward her quickly and stood above her with his fists on his hips.
“Weirdo,” he began, leaning over and picking her up out of her chair, “you’re comin’ with me.”
