Ooh can I share a headcannon! Uh ok so I HC that sonic is actually hugely introverted in the game canon. He HATES the press and paparazzi. He hates them so much that when he goes out in public he wears disguises, and is REALLY good at it. Cue fanfic setup where shadow meets a disguised sonic and is absolutely smitten head over heels unaware that this dashing and strangely familiar hedgehog is the rival he wants to smack the lights out of most the time. Sonic, who's been down bad for shadow from day one, or just wants some material to embarrass shadow with, goes along with the ruse. Hilarity and drama ensues.
