What Hogwarts houses do you think the kids and teens would be in? I have a specific headcannon for who is in which house. Mike, Robin and Jonathan would be Slytherins, Max, Lucas and Steve would be Gryfindores, Dustin and Nancy are definitely Ravenclaws with Will and El being Hufflepuffs

After the angry threats and mean annons I got last year I’m a bit scared to get back into the sorting discorse but for the record:

Hufflepuff: Mike (loyal to a fault, literally jumped of a cliff for Dustin), Jonathan (went along with all of Nancy’s shenanigans since day one)

Gryffindor: Hopper (fight first think later), Will (the bravest boy, big neville vibes), Steve (would die to protect the kids, like threw himself in front of billy’s car), El (Would also die to protect the gang also all that “i can do it” stuff from this season)

Slytherin: Lucas (Knows how to plan, great leader), Max (knows when to hang back or jump in also all that stuff with El, peak slytherin energy), Robin (crafty, smart, quick witted), Erica (”can’t spell America without Erica” peak slytherin), Nancy (always knows best, great with cunning plans)

Ravenclaw: Dustin (Always knows whats up, extremely smart), Joyce (always thinks things through and can keep a level head), Bob (smart radio shack man, started av club, knows basic, loves learning)

I don’t think they should call her El. They should call her Jane, her given name. I know they’re used to calling her that, but El is short for Eleven, the name she had in a lab where they exploited her and used her for her powers. Now that that’s behind her, they should dump the whole El thing.

The way I see it, El is also her given name, it was the name given to her by Mike, he was one of the first people to care about her and treat her like a person. Even though El is short for Eleven her and the others don’t associate that name with Eleven, it’s just El now. Jane isn’t a name she identifies with, she didn’t grow up with that name and even though it is the name her mother gave her it doesn’t represent who she is now. Just because being Eleven isn’t a part of her life she like to remember doesn’t mean she wants to erase it completely. I think El is representative of both who she was and who she is, it is a reminder of how far she’s come in her new life because she made a conscious decision to live with Hopper rather than go back to her mother because Hopper, and the others are her family and she doesn’t want to live in the past. She doesn’t want to erase how she grew up because it’s an important part of her life. El is a name that represents who she has become since leaving the lab, it represents her new relationships and the identity those people have helped her to create. Overall El seems like the name that she wants to be called, maybe that’ll change at some point but for now that’s the name she likes.
