I've come to realize that my favorite follower mods are ones that are made with entirely platonic relationships with the player character as the main priority. Romance, if any, can be any priority from third and below, but first and second priority should definitely be friendship and story.

I wanna see Inigo meet the girl of his dreams and fall in love, like he often alludes to wanting, and visit him in his future home in the Rift.

I want to watch Lucien grow as a person out in the real world, maybe meet the person of his dreams--- if he's capable of feeling that way--- and flourish as a scholar.

Xelzaz has a kind heart, and I want to see what change he could bring if he truly became a Telvanni master, write letters back and forth, and when he eventually finds his sweetheart I want to attend his wedding.

I want to celebrate Remiel's achievements in engineering and history (I know she's romancible, but I only ever view her relationship with my Dragonborns as being purely platonic). I want to watch the goofy stuff she gets up to.

Serana out there, living her best life. Maybe she saves vampires from the thrall of Molag Bal, or she quietly researches ways to help people. Most of all, I wanna see this goth girl heal, it sounds like she never really caught a break.

I wanna see them THRIVE after all their suffering. As a treat.

having both the kaidan and inigo follower mods installed has been the greatest decision i could have made for Diem's playthrough. just an ordinary mage exploring the wilds of skyrim with her tragic, lovesick bodyguard and her tragic, wet cat of a best friend and other bodyguard. highly recommended.

I don’t know if anyone’s done this yet but I just got done playing through some new follower mods and this is my take.
