Insanity: Day 7
Rest day. Well deserved. :)
Day 3: Insanity
Definitely feeling good about working out. Still sore as hell though. Glad tomorrow is Cardio Recovery.
BENEFITS FROM INSANITY PROGRAM: Personal
My back has become more sculptured.
I've lost a great amount of that back fat I remember carrying two months ago.
My arms and deltoids have hardened from all that exercise
My stomach has decreased in size. It's still there, but it's slightly smaller. Still a working progress.
I can't wait for the next 30 days to pass, to see more changes.
The Insanity Workout - more than just weight loss
I’ve been a fitness fanatic for a while now and it really bugs me when people are in it for the weight loss. Fitness is more than that, and if you stick for a while results will come, and weight loss and great looks will appear seemingly out of nowhere.
I started this fitness journey thanks to a program called Insanity. The Insanity workout is something that most people recognize for its weight loss properties. And this is where people enter fitness backwards. Instead of enjoying what fitness in its entirety has to offer (and that’s a lot), they focus on a trivial thing that will come sooner or later as a side result. But I digress.
As to show you what this Insanity thing can do beside the apparent weight loss aspect, I’m going to list you all the benefits it brings to the table.
The cardio aspect improves your cardiovascular health.
The demanding high intensity cardio workouts make you improve your respiratory system
You lower your body fat, cholesterol, part with toxins day after day.
And that is as far as health goes. As for fitness aspects there is even more.
You will become faster. And this is due to both lots of cardio moves as well as complex moves that target and strengthen your muscles.
You will become stronger. This is apparent after the while of hard muscle work.
You will develop more muscle endurance, meaning that you can do physical activities that involve muscle activation longer.
You will be more coordinated. And this is due to the fact that there are lots of complex exercises involved.
You will improve your range of motion. Mostly because of the yoga poses and trying to keep correct form.
You will develop more balance. This comes from strengthening the joints with lots of exercises and yoga poses.
The list above shows you that Insanity has the ability to transform you into a fitness machine. And while there is more to add to this list, I think it is more important to write down the lifestyle benefits that go along with it. And there is a lot there too.
You will have better sleeping schedule. This will come as a necessity at first, but slowly turn into a habit. The strenuous workouts impose a certain rhythm of hormonal balance, and they have the ability to dictate sleeping patterns.
You will part away with unhealthy foods. Also- a necessity at first, then a habit.
You will make the habit of being active, keeping the good mood for days to an end.
There is a lot more I can write about here, but you get the picture. Insanity has the power to transform your looks, weight loss wise; but it also has the power of making you physically more superior, as well as help you with your lifestyle design.
Insanity Workout - Day 40: Max Interval Circuit
Hey guys! Sorry that my posting has been so sporadic over the last couple weeks or so; I am away at the moment and it isn't as easy to get time to do my workouts and spending 15/20 minutes catching up on my blog. However, I will always get around to it when I can!
I can't believe I managed to get to day 40. I knew by about day 7 or 8 that I was going to stay committed this time around; this doesn't take away from the fact that I have actually made it to day 40 though. I feel like it's such an achievement.
As for the workout, this was the second time that I have done this new Max Interval workout and I can't complain. It is probably the hardest of this month's workouts in my opinion, and I definitely wasn't able to do it from beginning to end with no rest - but I did what I could, when I could - this is the most you can ask for really.
This week has been a bit of an ebb for me due to the fact that I'm not sure how much my body has actually changed. I know that I have lost a significant lot of weight and put on a bit of muscle - but I still can't help thinking that it is far off the pace of what I was expecting. I am sure some of you will say it's down to diet and I am only being honest when I say I haven't stuck to it letter for letter (so I wasn't expecting '6 pack' results) so I know my results would be limited - but I personally think they are even less obvious even with an non-strict diet. When I say non-strict, I don't mean I eat badly - because I don't at all - but I haven't stuck to the specific plan note for note.
Anyway, it might just be me being paranoid.
Keep digging and peace out!
Insanity Workout - Update.
Hello Tumblr and Insanity world, just thought I'd post a quick update on where I am with all this. Basically, my family live in the Middle East due to my father's work commitments - this means, therefore, that I visit them once a summer for 3/4 weeks at a time. So how does this effect my programme? Well, the day after my last post I flew out to the Middle East and the last 4 days have been full of travelling and I just haven't had a spare moment of being settled, let alone free to do the workout. Anyway, I have now ceased travelling and am about to commence my workout again. Now, whether you agree or not, I have decided to go straight into month 2, day 1. I would do the recovery week but I've had like 4/5 days of doing nothing - and I'm ready to get back into it. If I deem it necessary - I will end up doing this recovery week at the end. I shall post later today as to how my first workout of the second month has gone! Dig deeper and peace out!
Insanity Workout - Day 23: Cardio Power and Resistance
I standby what I have said every time I have done this workout: it kicks my frickin' ass. Every. Single. Time. I don't know what it is about this one that seems to get me more than the others. Oh well!
I was away all day visiting my girlfriend - had left the house at 6am - so I just didn't have time in the morning to get it done. I was also busy in the evening, out with friends. However, despite this, in the very small gap (about an hour and a half) between getting back from my girlfriends and going out to meet friends, I got this workout in. Now, I would never have done that before. The 'old me' would have just said: 'ah well, there's always tomorrow' - but not this time. I got straight home, unpacked some stuff, got straight into my workout gear and just got on it. Simple as that. This commitment won't be disappearing anytime soon. Cannot wait until phase II. If the results repeat themselves from this month, I am in for a treat by day 60.
Anyway people - dig deeper and peace out.
