I'm jumping on the synth-theory here but about Dogmeat! I read a few posts some time ago about people hypothesizing he may be a synth since there's evidence the Institute makes animal-synths and he casually bonds with Sole of all humans! (Also his intelligence stats are quite high, and he looks domesticated for a dog living in the wild, which made people speculate). What are your thoughts on it?
We know that the Institute creates synthetic gorillas, that are biological given the fact you can eat their meat. There's also the theory that all the crows in the game are actually Institute synths (which I believe because why not, it just works; they don't show up as living creatures when you're in VATS so I theorize they're an avian robotic that's less sophisticated than a gen 1 synth and thus doesn't even register in VATS as a potential threat). So, given all that, it's definitely not far-fetched to think that the Institute has experimented with other synthetic life. If Dogmeat were a synth, then I headcanon that that means Dogmeat from Fallout 3 and Dogmeat from Fallout 4 could be the same dog. And I do agree it would explain why DOGMEAT HAS A HIGHER INTELLIGENCE STAT THAN PORTER GAGE, RJ MACCREADY OR STRONG AND AN EQUAL INTELLIGENCE STAT TO PRESTON GARVEY AND DEACON WHO IS LITERALLY THE INTELLIGENCE OPERATIVE OF THE RAILROAD
Also I like this theory because Dogmeat being a synth makes his affinity with Nick Valentine extra cute, y'know?
