I love just having the power to make all my games and stories somehow interconnected
Love Actually (2003)
Directed by Richard Curtis
This Book Said ‘What If Reality Just…Stopped Working
An Hour Before Dark feels like the kind of book that was built for horror readers who love connective tissue between stories and that delicious sense that something much bigger, and much weirder, is happening behind the curtain. The setup is honestly catnip for cosmic horror fans: missing planes, vanished people, military experiments gone wrong, strange trails, broken realities. Instead of giving you one straight shot of terror, it sounds like this collection keeps circling the same expanding nightmare from different angles, which is such a fun way to build dread. If your ideal horror read makes you feel like the world is quietly coming unstitched while everyone is just trying to survive it, this one really seems to know its audience.
For me, this lands in that 3.5-star space where the concept is wildly compelling and the atmosphere sounds deeply eerie, but interconnected short story collections can sometimes be a little uneven by nature. Still, the mix of cosmic horror, time distortion, and interlocking mysteries gives it a lot of appeal, especially if you like your horror strange, layered, and a little disorienting. This feels less like a “read one story and move on” collection and more like wandering deeper into a very bad place and realizing every path connects. Basically: if you like horror that’s creepy, weird, and just a little reality-melting, this seems like a very solid time.
Book Review: Love and Other Flight Delays by Denise Williams
★★★ 1/2 ✩✩
Overall this was very cute and a lighthearted read that I just enjoyed. It only took so long because I had to return it to the library and it was months before I could get a copy to borrow 😂
The three stories interconnect nicely by either character relationships or the setting as all stories are in and around an airport setting.
I think of the three stories, 'The Missed Connection' was my all time favorite. There's a great back n forth flirting and witty dialogue between the two MC's, Gia and Felix that is just so much to read from the minute they met and throughout their arc. Plus I'm a fan of a man who knows how to challenge and bring out the best in their partner and themselves without being a jerk. These two have a grumpy x sunshine trope thing going but they also felt the most well rounded of all the characters.
'The Sweetest Connection' was adorable, a bit of the will they or won't they mixed in with friends to lovers trope or my absolute fave, the other doesn't know that they're crushing on them so that was also a fun read and probably the fastest of the three.
'The Love Connection' was the opening story and it was also a good read, lots of fun dialogue, great side characters and lovable characters but they didn't stay with me like Gia and Felix.
A Day In My Life: A Day In Your Life @Blogchatter #writeapageaday
In the kaleidoscope of our days, the tapestry of routine and spontaneity intertwines, weaving unique narratives that reflect the essence of who we are. A day in my life unfolds like a novel with chapters marked by the rhythm of daily responsibilities and the poetry of fleeting moments. Mornings, an overture of awakening, cast golden hues on my world as I embrace the rituals that usher in the…

Every story I make is interconnected somehow, be it through a time-travelling character, same story different perspective, recurring characters, recurring factions, side stories, or otherwise. The exception to that is D&D character backstories, but even then, I have references to other stories of mine.
