I'm writing this with tears in my eyes as my children scream in pain every night. Because of severe malnutrition their teeth are rotting and causing unbearable pain.

They refuse to eat and cry nonstop while I stand helpless watching them suffer. My heart is breaking. We urgently need medicine for the pain and infection plus a doctor visit. Thanks to your kindness we have raised $888 so far but we still desperately need $1,992 to complete the treatment.

Despite sixty years of trade embargo, and now a total blockade, Cuba has outpaced the US in literacy, life expectancy, and other areas--and this is after the country had already been plundered of much of it's natural resources.

The only thing the US is "proving" with this blockade is that large, powerful countries can use their power to harm smaller, less powerful ones. If, as capitalists claim, "socialism doesn't work," it wouldn't take sixty years of intervention from the most powerful country in the world to "prove" it.

Ethnic cleansing is not just the active removal of a people by force, it is also creating conditions that necessitate their displacement. Every single Ghazzawi who has been displaced to Egypt or elsewhere as a result of this genocide is a victim of ethnic cleansing unless their unconditional right of return is afforded to them, which likely it will not be. I just get weary of every time a Palestinian family is helped to flee Gaza seeing that framed as a ‘success story’ or a happy ending. These people were ethnically cleansed from their homeland by Israel. That is a tragedy. It is only a ‘success’ in that they live to see another day. The conditions which were manufactured specifically to make their displacement an existential necessity should’ve never been imposed upon them in the first place. They should not have had to flee their homeland with the likelihood they will never return to escape a holocaust. I need you all to understand that. It’s a happier story, yes, but it’s still a fucking tragedy.

My personal theory of racism is that the more a group depends on another for labor, the more they tend to look down on them, viewing that labor as what separates them from the people they exploit. When Southeast Asians go to East Asia to take on the less desirable jobs, some locals feel increasingly entitled in their treatment of them. In Malaysia, this dynamic is clear: the greater the reliance on South Asian laborers, the more they are looked down upon, even as their work is essential to the economy.

The greater the dependency, the stronger the urge to be racist. The more you need them, the more racist you become.

When one group depends on the labour of another, but that labour involves exploitation, a kind of moral dissonance arises, along with the need to justify the system and, consequently, to reinforce the inferiority of the subjugated group. This amounts, essentially, to a form of functional dehumanisation, which makes it easier to pay lower wages, continue exploiting, and ignore suffering.

Thus, racism, aporophobia and xenophobia operate as control mechanisms whereby the ‘other’ is discriminated against to the point where they come to see themselves as inferior and, in some cases, even internalise and reproduce their own exploitation.

'Pre-emptive' strikes don't exist in International law. International law doesn't exist either it seems.
