“Synagoga et Ecclesia”

This painting made several Christians mad, which means I’m doing everything right. This is my interpretation of a medieval motif, allegorical figures of Church and Synagogue, where the latter is traditionally depicted as old and weak. Here, I’m exploring the themes of Christian antisemitism, a prevalent issue to this day. Many Christians still view Jews as cursed and sinful. / Эта картина разозлила нескольких христиан, что значит я всё делаю правильно. Это моя интерпретация средневекового мотива с аллегорическими фигурами Церкви и Синагоги, где последняя традиционно показана старой и немощной. Я работаю с темой христианского антисемитизма, распространённой проблемой даже в наши дни. Многие христиане до сих пор считают евреев проклятыми и греховными.

I am Asian but was raised Catholic, but my ethnic culture is impossible to separate from Buddhism, plus the Bible translation I grew up with obviously had Buddhist influences. I wonder how much of me is subconsciously influenced by Buddhism. I think that’s such a beautiful thing.

I firmly stand against the idea that there is one single true religion. Every human on this earth is different: we each have different upbringings, different motivations, different goals, different cultural backgrounds. A middle-aged man living in Canada is living a very different life from a little girl living in Vietnam. A young woman in India is living a very different life from an elderly man in Russia. Each person is on a different spiritual journey, each with different spiritual maturity. The various religious and spiritual traditions of the world are like different pathways to a singular destination: unity with God.

Happy (somewhat early) Easter, sister Void! I'm going to Easter Vigil tonight, so my question is:

How do you celebrate Easter at church? Are there special parts or anything?

Happy Easter!! We love celebrating Easter, and the Holy week leading up to it! Every ward celebrates differently, but in mine, we celebrate by having musical numbers instead of talks/sermons during sacrament meetings. We only have one hour of church, so people can spend more time with their families, and if we do have lessons or talks, they’re focused on Christ’s sacrifice, atonement, and resurrection.

We also have regional customs. In Utah, we may have neighborhood easter egg hunts, brunches, and fasts. My family has a tradition of hiding easter baskets around the house for the kids to find (we did it this morning- my basket was eventually located inside of the washing machine). Some families also eat certain foods like lamb, bread, and marshmallow-stuffed croissants in symbolism and memory of Christ.

Easter is amazing, and I’m so glad we get to celebrate the great sacrifice of our Savior and His glorious resurrection and conquering of death. I especially love our Easter songs- I would highly recommend checking some of these out!

Hi everyone! Info about my charity stream on Friday: (Feel free to share this image and text anywhere you like)

I am deeply hurt by the violence being targeted toward churches, and in most particular, the violence against members of my own church on 9/28/25.

I've decided to bring a cause I care about together with my Stream, so this Friday, 10/10/25, I will be hosting a charity event on my Twitch channel to benefit victims and their families of the Grand Blanc attack. 

I've never run a charity stream before, so this will be new ground for me in terms of tech issues that may come up. Plus, this will be the first time I've played euphonium on stream (can't promise it will be good) and the return from my hiatus on karaoke. (REALLY can't promise that will be good.) I can however promise that our Art Request session will be most excellent. XD There will also be video games and a special Cleric-only D&D oneshot.

If you are able to come by and help us reach our fundraiser goal, or even just donate independently, or even just show up and cheer me on, it would mean a whole lot to me. <3
