Dr. Ben Nomad is a intergalacticdoctor who hardly does any hero work, except for providing prescriptions, surgeries, transplants and check-ups for his patients at the Intergalactic Hospital, like any normal doctor would. He has the same species as Wander, except he lacks a Southern accent and is more intelligent and resourceful compared to him. He shares the role of straight man/Zbornak with Sylvia, since they get along with each other pretty well, and he sometimes participates in adventures with her and Wander. He is also a fan of Lord Hater's cartoon show, even though he keeps his fanboy side a secret when meeting in-person with Lord Hater. Like Wander, he can also wear various different disguises, such as the rebellious bad guy outfit and alter his personality in order to fit the part.
Due to Wander's family in the past remaining untold, the Doc will act as a father figure to Wander. And whenever Wander is harmed or injured, the Doc will sacrifice his neurotics to protect and save him from dangers across the galaxy. He also has no interest in dating or marrying Lord Dominator, despite the fact that she deems him as more "attractive" than all the other people in the galaxy. Like how Dominator rejects Hater, the Doc will reject her because he doesn't imagine having a relationship with an evil overlord.
There’s a logical explanation why he never appeared in the past two seasons (of their lives!). He’s heard of Wander and Sylvia’s adventures on news articles, but was too busy nursing up bounty hunters to be aware of what’s going on. The third season had him move up to become a professional intergalactic doctor at a hospital, marking his official on-screen debut with Lord Hater and Commander Peepers in the room where every villain got broken medical conditions. Later in the middle of the episode, we finally get to see him meet Wander and Sylvia in-person, where they came to check on Hater and Peepers. At the end of the episode, Hater reads the gift Wander sent him and screams in agony.
He also has a fatal flaw like Wander, but a different kind of fatal flaw: Gambling. One day, he loses his job due to an unprecedented amount of adventures with Wander and Sylvia. While the two try to help him look for a job, Dominator (his unwanted love interest) manipulates the Doc into gambling at the casino. For two weeks straight, he gains an unhealthy obsession of gambling and loses his sanity without stopping and it was up to Wander and Sylvia to snap him out of it. Meanwhile, back at the hospital, Hater tries to do the Doc’s job, but proves to be a worse doctor than him. Realizing that being a doctor is hard, he runs off to stop Dominator from manipulating the Doc, begs the latter to stop gambling and return to his old job. The Doc finally snaps out it, returns to his senses and learnt that gambling was not a way to make a living. Everything returns to normal. The Doc from now on will split time between his patients at the hospital and visit his two favorite people on their adventures. Unlike Wander's, the Doc's fatal flaw is short-lived.
