“But what if I don’t like beans” is a very annoying phenomenon on the internet but may I propose an equally annoying phenomenon in the “you’re not special” crowd.
I am so done with it.
I saw a video showcasing how early it gets dark in the UK in winter and the top comment was “clearly you’ve never been to Canada” and when someone asked why that was a necessary comment they defended it with “the English are acting like it doesn’t happen all over, they’re not special”.
It was educational and it said England because it was filmed in England, nowhere did it claim it was a unique feature of England. It just wanted to show what occurred in that location.
I saw another one showing the Red Bull F1 car making cool vortexes in the rain spray, just showing off some cool photos and saying “look how cool this is”. All the comments were going “all f1 cars do that” “this isn’t a new thing” “this isn’t unique to them they’re not special”.
Why do people act like someone showing something cool is an attack on them if it isn’t focused on them?
It’s just something cool. It’s just someone showing something happening and saying “hey look at this”.
I’m so sick of it. Not everything is about you. Just let people enjoy cool things.
