Fallen angel Tom Riddle
I LOVE ACCURATE CHARACTERIZATION. I LOVE READING A FANFIC AND THINKING "YEAH THEY WOULD SAY THAT". I LOVE WHEN FANFICTION INCLUDES THEIR POSITIVE AND NEGATIVE TRAITS. I GET THE WRITER CAN DO WHATEVER THEY WANT AND IT'S A FANTASY BUT WHY DOES EVERY CHARACTER HAVE TO SOUND EXACTLY THE SAME NOWADAYS. I COULD ERASE THE NAME FROM A LOT OF THESE THINGS I READ AND GENUINELY NOT KNOW WHO I'M READING ABOUT.

Harry Potter/Tom Riddle. Rated E. Chapters 1/?. For @tomegamort
summary:
Rookie Auror Harry Potter is sure that acting as Minister for Magic Tom Riddle's security detail for the day will wind up being yet another boring assignment. He couldn't be more wrong.
After being dosed by a mysterious political enemy, Harry and Tom's suppressants are over riddenāforcing them into simultaneous heat and rut. The best course of action, they decide, is to go through it together.
When it's over, Harry assumes they will both do their best to put the whole thing behind them. But now both of their hormones are dangerously unstable. What can they do? Well, according to their healer, it's best if they continue sleeping together.
(possibly inflammatory might delete lol)
absolutely hilarious how angry people get about a fest celebrating a less popular dynamic simply... existing. you don't have to participate. you don't have to read any of the works posted. in fact, they're all in a nifty little collection that you can easily avoid! these same people swear up and down they aren't antis and just have a preference but will publicly throw a tantrum at the mere reminder of that dynamic's existence. read the fics you want to read. write the fics you want to read. It's already the MAJORITY of fics out there. It's okay to let other people have fun. Not everything is meant for you, actually.
The most hardcore thing that Harry James Potter ever did was not, contrary to popular belief, the āthereās no need to call me āsir,ā Professorā incident, but instead was either the time that he
a) laid into one of the people he respected most in the world (and the only authority figure in his life offering him help in one of the most desperate situations heād ever been in) for leaving his pregnant wife, going āman, youāre inhibited by your own self-loathing and fear? Thatās rough. That really sucks. But you know what trumps that? RESPONSIBILITY. You brought a child into the world. Youāre a father now. Youāre scared? Walk it off. Walk it off AAAAAALLLL THE WAY BACK HOME. And say hi to Tonks for me.ā
or
b) he willingly let himself be murdered, came back from the dead, walked back onto the battlefield, stared his own killer dead in the eyes completely unimpressed and called him āTomā
Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh.

is it just me or do the ppl on tomarry twitter that hate bottom Tom sound a little homophobic to anyone else? Like itās totally fine to have preferences, but some ppl are just major assholes about it š where are my fellow Bottom Tom truthers at? like come on u canāt tell me he hasnāt been dicked down at least onceā¦have u SEEN him?!
Why isn't Harry Potter's magical prowess more talked about and also a thing in every fic? This and his unrelenting sarcasm are two of his most obvious traits, and everyone continues to write him and talk about him as an ordinary, oblivious, socially awkward dweeb, that just had Things⢠happen to him and now he's famous and he hates it, I guess š¤·š»āāļø
Harry Potter, the protagonist, was not Dumbledoreās puppet
Just like I did with another post, I decided to make my own bringing up the same points, because I think theyāre relevant enough to stand on their own. So I genuinely donāt understand where this idea comes from āthat Harry was manipulated by Dumbledore from the very beginning, that he should never have trusted him ā and from these ideas, people somehow jump to the conclusion that Harry was Dumbledoreās puppet the entire time, caught in some political game between him and Voldemort, while ignoring Voldemort being Harryās equal, something confirmed in the books:
āHe chose the boy he thought most likely to be a danger to him,ā said Dumbledore. āAnd notice this, Harry. He chose, not the pureblood (which, according to his creed, is the only kind of wizard worth being or knowing), but the half-blood, like himself. He saw himself in you before he had ever seen you
OotP
Why did Voldemort pick Harry and not Neville?
JK Rowling: Dumbledore explains this in 'Order of the Phoenix'. Voldemort identified more with the half-blood boy and therefore decided he must be the greater risk.
Reinforced by the author herself.
āThe one with the power to vanquish the Dark Lord approaches ... born to those who have thrice defied him, born as the seventh month dies... and the Dark Lord will mark him as his equal, but he will have power the Dark Lord knows not... and either must die at the hand of the other for neither can live while the other survives ... the one with the power to vanquish the Dark Lord will be born as the seventh month diesā¦ā
And the quote above was even pointed out in an article on the official Harry Potter site that literally says: 7 times that Professor Trelawney actually got it right.
Itās worth noting that the same quote explicitly says āThe one,ā which refers to Harry himself, not to him as a tool for another character, or even for those who stood by him and helped him along the way. Iāve seen people try to lean on the idea of collectivity and the lesson on friendship of the series to argue otherwise, as if the core of the saga didnāt begin with Harry and Voldemort being marked as equals. Itās not about a collective standing above the individual and diluting the protagonistās agency; itās about how that very collective forms and organizes itself around him.
So, it doesnāt make sense for a series called Harry Potter to have its own protagonist reduced to being groomed into Dumbledoreās puppet. Harry didnāt even trust Dumbledore with everything, and he spent a good part of the series trying to hide things from him. Like in GoF, when he never told him about his dreams or the pain in his scar. In HBP, he fully disagrees with Dumbledore about Draco and Snape, proving he doesnāt always trust his judgments. He also sees Hermione as the one who trusts Dumbledoreās authority the most. Even if they share similar values, Harry literally grew up wary of Dumbledoreās secrecy, and he wasnāt one to be restrained when it came to pursuing things on his terms.
Harry has immense respect for him, not just because he believes in his intentions ā in the cause behind them ā but because thereās an almost paternal bond there. So why is that framed as blind trust? Their relationship is more complex than that!
Itās always about reducing things into easily digestible conceptsā the same way people take the good vs evil framework, rendered as Harry (the hero) = pure and naive, Voldemort (the villain) = impure and heartless. And thatās the same logic here, because Dumbledore is a manipulative ā āimpureā ā figure, Harry is then positioned against him, cast as the āpureā counterpart and automatically reduced to a passive lamb. All the nuance gets ignored, as if actions could only exist in a single, illogical dimension.
That kind of interpretation fails to account for Harry Potter himself.
Harry was a soldierā DAās leader, carrying out a mission he believed in, just as much as Dumbledore did. And he had plenty of personal reasons for it; to end the war that had defined his entire life, and to make sure no one else had to die for something that was always meant to end with him. His sacrifice was a choice ā one he had the courage and honor to make himself. Again, like a soldier, like a hero ā not because he was being manipulated by Dumbledore.
Yes, Dumbledore is an extremely manipulative individual, but implying Harryās choices were a product of that entirely misses the point of his character. The lack of actually reading the booksā where the narration is centered on Harryā leads some people to come up with random theories that erase defining elements of the story.
Tom Riddle clearly lost his virginity the exact moment Harry shoved that massive, thick fang straight into his diarussy.
The fang left a gaping hole š¤š„µ
Oh my fucking god ššš
Harry really DESTROYED his diarussy huh
Gimme one sec searching something real quick
Moment of truth....
give love to ongoing fics too. not just one shots or completed works.
while āwriters write for themselves first and foremostā and āfanfic reading is a form of self care and no reader should feel pressured to kudos or comment on the fic they readā are both true, kudos and positive comments are still so appreciated. and as a fellow writer, I can tell for a fact that while I do write for myself and my own enjoyment, seeing lovely comments from my readers always motivates me to write more and write faster.
unfortunately some people choose to avoid ongoing fics because they either want to wait for the whole thing to get posted first or theyāre afraid writers will abandon the works and leave those works unfinished. but the thing is that if you want long, multi-chapter fics, letting writers know you love and appreciate their hard works by giving them kudos and commenting nice things on their ongoing fics will almost definitely always motivate writers to write. and also, writing can be hard. I know writers who pull all-nighters doing researches on their fics. I know writers who put so much time, effort and dedication into their fics. the fics they allow people to read for free. please let them know you love and appreciate their works if you can, especially with the raise of bots (it can be super discouraging for a writer to see that the only comments their fics get are from bots and scam).
kudos and comments help writers write more fics. appreciate fanfic writers. appreciate fan artists. appreciate ongoing fics.
Dead on the inside.
What started as anatomy practice, obviously turned into whatever Tom this is.
Obsessing over the idea that Parselmouths slowly gain more and more snake characteristics as they age and become more exposed to magic.
Voldemort's snakey visage? All parseltongue related, except the red eyes.
I want Harry who one day notices his pupils turning into thin slits when he looks into the mirror, who tastes the bitter poison filling his mouth but never harms him. His tongue feels weird in his mouth with its changing shape, but he can smell the people around him, their lies that taste all wrong. He finds his first patch of soft shimmering scales two weeks after Voldemort died and the magic of not-dying that he was exposed to accelerated the process.
And it haunts him like Voldemort's ghost would.
rant ahead, don't like don't read
i just saw someone call a scene where Harry gets choked by Tom and immediately likes it as "canon characterisation". Girl be fucking for real right now. Stop denigrating canon Harry like that. canon Harry bitch slapped 16 year old Tom and killed his basilisk WITHOUT A WAND!!!
The sub masochist Harry stuff is NOT canon characterisation, if you like it, it's fine but for the love of god stop calling it canon. It is so piss taking, you are presumably a grown adult, just own the fact that you like non-canon Harry characterisation instead of pretending Harry James Potter would canonically do any of that.
and it genuinely puts me off fics described that way bc it means when people say "canon characterisation" they mean "doormat submissive Harry" like how tf am I supposed to find canon esque characterisation then? none of you know what canon means smh
tom riddle has brown eyes. Tom Riddle looks soft and approachable.
Harry potter's eyes are extremely startling. Harry potter does not look approachable.
This concept has been in your face since the books, the way people want to change it so badly is strange.
