⭑ ⠀⠀ trying to be a 'realistic' person is so hard as a shifter because , truly what qualifies as 'realistic' if everything can be true with the affirmation of your desires?
Hi there. I am not sure if asking this here is the correct thing to do, but is there is a way to become more compassionate? I hope I don't sound like that toxic robot INTJ stereotype but I have a hard time empathizing with a lot of people. I do emphasize with my closest friends and family. I just really struggle when I meet new people and they already tell me about their sad experiences in life and I always feel overwhelmed and don't know how to react so I end up with a "half-hearted" reaction because I overthink of what to say. I tried copying the reaction other people have when hearing something similar but it feels wrong to me as if I acted out a script when in reality I don't know how to express I genuinely care. Maybe I should stop overthinking and just say what I hope people would tell me if I were in their boots? Clearly strangers trust me enough to even tell me about their difficult times which I appreciate so I want to keep their trust. What can I do?
Don't try to change how you feel or force reactions out of yourself. It'll stress you out, make the situation about yourself and won't help your friend in need. But new people are not owed your support. If they cross your boundaries, it's not your job to make them comfortable. You are nice to care about strangers' feelings, but you can distance yourself from them if that's too much for you. It doesn't make you a bad person. Yes you can try to help people by telling them what you'd like to be told, it sure helps. What I try to remember is to tell them I am sorry the bad things are happening to them and that they are not wrong for feeling bad about it. Most of the time, people want to be supported more than they want solutions or positive thinking. Feeling heard and understood will often do more for them than actual help.

Am I being ungrateful just because I feel dissatisfied with my current life?
Am I being ungrateful just because I want to improve myself?
Am I being ungrateful just because I complains that some of my way doesn’t work and I want to find new solutions?
Am I being ungrateful just because I’m in the constand need to change myself for better future?
Here’s what a NiFi-Looper like myself looks like:
Ni: I had a vision of having this...
Fi: Here are my specific, unchangeable terms for it; I want it to be a and b and c and d. Don’t ask me why.
Te: Why the h... never mind. I’ll figure out a way to get it! Don’t you worry!
Se: Haha and no matter the price! We want to be satisfied after all don’t we?!

Why do I always feel so stupid after I have let someone else into my life?
Here are 53 things that annoy me as an INTJ personality, and 42 things I like. Fellow INTJs, can you relate?
I hate un-optimized systems and organizations that have no systems.
INTJ: I am a cold person. I am void of all emotion. There is a cave of darkness where my heart should be. I care about nothing.
