THE SERPENTS. FROM. HOGWARTS DR!
YOU'RE NOT MEAN, YOU JUST WANT TO BE SEEN!
a seemingly fan favourite, the slytherins of the golden era are widely talked about in their own universe and in their respective fandom as well. will i ever get it? not really, no. unsurprisingly, my type leans more towards gryffindors (despite dating three slytherins — which i will be getting into).
regardless, i'm going to milk their popularity if it's going make a good post and gain some traction. so, today, you will be hearing about the slytherins in my hogwarts dr.
DRACO LUCIUS MALFOY. SIXTH YEAR
this snotball pmo so bad, i can't even talk about him without getting annoyed. ugh! okay, i've got to lock in. he's practically the leader of the group, or at least he thinks he is. he sees crabbe and goyle as more of his goons to command, but he sees theodore, pansy, and blaise as his genuine friends. especially, theo, as their families are the closest, so they grew up side by side through this association. it's also why they kind of get each other (no homo) — they mirror one another.
i've always been open about my dislike towards malfoy. he makes it his personal business to shame and belittle anyone who isn't a slytherin or pureblood. just like how you see in this reality's harry potter movies/books. i genuinely don't understand why my three good friends tolerate his nonsense. apparently, he acts a little less of an asshole with them. more introverted, a bit aloof, usually has his nose down a book. still, he's known for his snarky, know-it-all comments, even with them.
just like most bullies, draco's attitude towards my friends and i is self projection — his way of avoiding and addressing his issues back at home. voldemort does not return in my reality. blood supremacists are still a thing, though. it's like being racist in this reality — you technically are allowed to be racist, but, why? and ew. anyways, draco feels a lot of pressure by his family to do great. it shows in his flawless grades, but they still crave more from him. don't get me wrong, he is a blood supremacist, but he dials the act up for the sake of his parents' approval. i'm certainly not going to sympathise him for it — it's still an asshole move, regardless of the motive behind it.
PANSY PARKINSON. SIXTH YEAR
pansy is that head bitch in charge. draco can act like he's leader, but pansy's really the one keeping things together in this friend group. she won't hesitate to claw a bastard who disses her. she wears whatever the fuck she wants, she does whatever the fuck she wants. her need to be top on the social ladder was conditioned from her grand upbringing. she'd watch as her parents lied and backstabbed as a way to keep their money flowing and image well. parkinson keeps her head high and struts, because that's all she knows on survival.
despite her ruthless ambition and unshakeable confidence, pansy isn't as mean as she makes herself to be. she's learned to like people for who they are, rather than whether or not their influence would take her to better places. she's much like theo in that sense — not a blood supremacist, but will sometimes talk about others in a slightly insensitive manner. she doesn't mean to, it's what was normalised for her given her upbringing. despite that, pansy has always struggled to gain female friendships. they always seem to run the other direction, or already have a set friend group they don't wish to stray from. sure, she's on friendly terms with the greengrasses, millicent bulstrode, and the carrow twins, but it's never any closer than that. her bossy nature isn't as appealing to others, but she's lucky to have the boys as her friends. blaise introduced us to each other, and i'm glad to have her as a friend. i always make the effort to hang out with pans, especially knowing her struggles and secret insecurity around friendships. she's so easy to fall in love with when she's so unapologetically herself. and i really mean that with the unspoken tension we have going on. well, do drunken kisses count as 'spoken'? i'm pretty sure pans has big romantic preference for women with some serious comphet. haha um anyways!
BLAISE ZABINI. SEVENTH YEAR
blaise is a proud hater. he won't speak unless spoken to — which makes people often think he's not even listening to you. actually, most of the time, he isn't listening, because he's easy to bore. but he loves gossip. absolute scorpio energy with this one — he can immediately sense when someone is a shitty person. he'll know it before anyone else does. pretentious and proud! but his good read on people makes him sooo emotionally mature. i dated blaise in our sixth year — he was my first serious boyfriend. first in many other things, too, and that was because he is the perfect person to open up to. genuinely i was a bit baffled when i got to know him more. once you stop seeing him in the light of a selfish asshole, you'll come to realise that blaise zabini is real. absolutely based. it's just that rich boy facade that makes him look so intimidating. blaise is a hater for valid reason. he's not a blood supremist, and he certainly isn't the type to shame a woman.
i think everyone's heard about mrs. zabini and the whole femme fatale charade she's got going on. yes, she's dated many. and as much as blaise loves his mother, it has affected him a tad. i've met mrs. zabini countless of times and she's a darling. knows a little too much about poisons and is protective over her garden, but a darling, nevertheless! i support women's rights and wrongs. either way, his momma raised him well. props to mrs. zabini for raising blaise to be the few proper gentlemen out there. blaise also has a baby half brother who he loves so dearly. gentle and good with kids — why is anyone surprised that i fell for this man?
THEODORE FAUSTUS NOTT. SEVENTH YEAR
theodore nott in my reality is such an enigma. in my head, there are four 'main characters' of this reality: harry, luna, me (not to toot my own horn) and theo. his story is so tragic and it's shame that theo doesn't see himself like how i do. he's obviously a very close friend to me, and we do date long-term in the future. if it wasn't for fred or george, it truly would've been him. the laurie to my jo, ironically enough.
to others, theodore is that one slytherin no one knows much about. he's aloof, doesn't even try to charm women. yet, everyone still knows of him, of the notts. to his friends, he's a little more open. he's got a geeky side to him — loves muggle media, like star wars (especially, anakin skywalker), video games, and is unapologetically enamoured with astronomy. in another universe, i truly believe theo could've been a ravenclaw instead. he even loves the colour blue. a chain smoker, yes, and very prone to bad habits.
he's italian on his mum's side. he's even got a mix of an accent. he grew up in italy as a kid, only moving to his father's manor in england for his schooling. unfortunately, it was around that time that he lost his mum, too. she was always ill and theo hates hospitals because of this. he was never as close to his father, but when his mum left the picture, faustus nott detested looking at the miniature face of his deceased wife. unlike the disapproving malfoys and their son, faustus nott gets violent. and theodore simply has to bear it. the whiplash from growing up with a man like mr. nott has practically cracked theo. he disassociates a lot. theo doesn't want to be as hateful as his father. he wishes to break the cycle. he's never cared for a wizard's blood status, or their wealth, or the hogwarts house they're in. he'd slip up and sometimes use the word 'mudblood' — a conditioning from growing up in the wretched environment of his father's bigoted rants — but he's actively learning to correct these parts of himself. theodore nott actively tries to be a good person, so much so that he doesn't realise that trying is what makes you a good person. he's tough on himself, especially on days when he receives a heated letter from his father. he gets a bad temper — and as an aftermath, he drowns himself at the thought of being no better than his father. but to me, he is that teddy bear, his mother's son. so pure of heart.
ended up writing a love letter for theo's part LMAOOO anyways i hope this gave yall an idea on what they're like. yes i kept draco canon and made the rest of them good people. so what! crabbe and goyle are the same as their canon, except they're kind of like roadmen since this is a modern dr. the slytherin girls that i mentioned are all pretty decent in my dr, too, but i don't think they were bad people in canon anyway?? same with blaise tbh. i hateeee how that terf wrote pansy. #notmypansy #lovefanonpansy
