The money they raise goes to fund Pitbull Rescue efforts around the US. Sadly due to Covid, they have had to cancel these events this year. 🎃 I’ve loved donating to their silent auction these past two years but since there isn’t a Hollywood event for 2020, I thought I would donate part of my profits from my Halloween Pitbull Mask! Happy National Rescue Dog Day! Rupert and I had big plans this afternoon to go to our favorite hiking trail and recharge our energy at our favorite tree. Unfortunately we discovered the trail is closed for maintenance. 🐾 But like they say, when one door closes another opens and apparently this holds true for trails. Almost immediately after taking this selfie we heard the pitter patter of paws. We turned around to discover a beautiful husky trotting down the path! Just before my brain could begin to devise a rescue mission for how to secure Rupert and scale the fence to get the dog, I saw her owner trotting behind her! Phew! 🐾 I inquired as to how she got in and she said she’d been hiking for hours from another trail and had heard this one was closed and decided to see if it was true. I asked her if she wouldn’t mind suggesting another trail. She asked if I was local (I am) and so she kindly obliged as long as I promised not to tell anyone the location so that it can stay the magical place that it is. A part of me can’t help feeling like this was something straight out of a fairy tail... a maiden and her loyal beast (aka Rupert) are lost until a stranger from a far off land appears and gives them directions to the secret kingdom. Okay, so maybe not THAT dramatic but certainly is serendipitous. And isn’t that how we all feel about our Rescue Animals? Every pet parent I know can recall in detail how their dog/cat/bird/etc came into their life. The timing is always perfect and down right magical. And that’s why the adage of, “who rescued who?” holds true. 🐾 Happy National Rescue Day from my fur crew to yours! 🐾 And now Rupert and I have a new adventure to embark upon tomorrow. For now, it’s back home for dinner, a good energy salt bath, and prepping for an animal communication session this evening. 🐾 How did you and your animal meet? Just received the the most beautiful Mother's Day gift from Pachamama and my Linebacker ladies on the other side. 🦋 A little bit ago I stepped out into my garden to take a look at Maybelline’s Stroller to see if it needed some dusting before taking my fur kids out for a walk. As I was looking down at the dead leaves that had fallen into the patio and debating if I should clear them out before the walk, my eyes caught the unmistakable color and pattern of an orange monarch! She was tucked carefully under some leaves, with only one wing poking out. Rupert and I carefully enearthed her and brought her inside where I placed her on my Mesa. 🦋 Monarchs are so very special to me as they are one of the symbols my Grandma Isabel uses to let me know she is around. My other grandmother, Kifty, prefers blue butterflies but in the past has let me know she’s nearby with Isabel when I’ve seen two monarchs fluttering by. Not to mention one of the beach’s my mom and I would go to when visiting Kifty was right beside a resort called The Monarch and had a bright orange butterfly the sign. My mom typically uses a yellow butterfly to indicate her presence. All three of them however know that when I see a butterfly, particularly a monarch, I know it’s them so finding such a beautiful gift this afternoon truly is something special. And I am so honored that this little creature decided to pass in my little sanctuary. I look forward to honoring her and the collective spirit of the monarch in my journey. 🦋 Did you know that finding a fallen bird, butterfly, or any creature is a gift from Spirit? Not sure who needs this but if you were looking for a “sign,” here you go! 🔮 Was just sitting outside, enjoying a coffee while I typed up notes/ideas for the next course I’m teaching when I looked over to see this little message written on the brick beside me! 🧱 Someone recently told me they felt like I lived my life in metaphors which I think is fairly accurate.
