Not all DID systems have inworlds, especially not one as thorough as ours. Ours basically gaslit us for YEARS into thinking that it was an entire alternate dimension, so it's pretty damn detailed and not some Good Vibes Only magical dreamworld.
Like, I have a different credit score over there for fuck's sake. It's worse than here. :l
We do like to talk about it because---well, a lot of us spend most of our waking hours there. Plus. it can give our friends insight to possible symbolism and how we're processing everything around us.
But what we make clear to people is two things:
Everything we talk about is real to us. The physical sensations, the life we experience, our jobs, our origins, everything.
We understand that it can be a weird topic to some people so we make it clear that they can just nope out if they want.
If you don't get it and tell me you want to keep the subject on the 'meat space', sure, gotcha.
You have no idea how many times we've been told "Oh yeah that's fine." and hear people talking shit about our 'cringe fantasy world' after.
Meanwhile, they'll be the same people look us dead in the eye and say something like "Well, I know for a fact that Hecate is speaking to me directly---" "And that's when I heard Loki's voice---" "My horoscope warned me---"
Look, scoff at subjective experiences or don't, but at least be like a little self-aware? And more importantly, don't give us the all-clear just to be all judgey afterwards, it isn't as cute as you think it is.
