I would have gotten an insulin pump so much earlier if they had the ability to store and play music. Just sayin Apple, get on it.

What kind of a pump do cyclists need? This was the question on the minds of the creators of the iPUMP. And the answer they came up with was a pump that is ‘light, strong, compact, aerodynamic, user friendly, impenetrable to high air pressures, durable, ergonomic and easy to store’. There you go. Well, they actually made it.

Made using a CNC machine and after numerous samples of carbon fiber pipes, they managed to produce the perfect one with the most suitable dimensions to ensure compactness, sturdiness and perfect pumping characteristics all in one.

The flexible high pressure hose is made of polyurethane and connected to the Presta air valve using a small part that is made of stainless steel so it is remarkably strong. Steel is known to be heavy, but since this part is very small, it affects the weight insignificantly. This kind of a setup is practical for one more reason. Due to the fact that you do not need to touch the tire during mounting, dismounting or pumping, your hands will stay clean.

The world’s lightest air pump weighs only 21 gram and its hose can endure pressures of up to 150 psi. watch the video below for more information.

A long ago conversation

Me and a friend had been talking about trolling the WBC (Westboro Baptist Church - if you haven't heard of them before, they're horrible people who protest at funerals and such with horrific signs). I drew a picture of the outfit I would wear if I went to counterprotest them ever. I drew in the insulin pump and the infusion site just for funsies with it.

Friend: "What is that?"

Me: "It's my insulin pump."

Friend: "Oh. I thought it was an ipod with headphones wired into your stomach pumping Lady Gaga directly into your soul."
