Thank you @helluvagirlboss for tagging me! I’m gonna submit a little bit of my WIP inspired by @blitzwhore’s “You’re Perfect (And Everything Inbetween).
I still have some stuff to chew on regarding Stolas’ and Chaz’s relationship before Stolas leaves, but trust. He will leave.
——————-
Chaz grabbed the nearest vase and chucked it at Stolas’ head. Stolas quickly dodged, staring in horror while the glass hit the wall and shattered, spraying glass and water everywhere. His beautiful red roses fell unceremoniously onto the linoleum floor.
He gawked at the broken glass and the wet spot on the ground, Chaz’s screaming fading away while his ears started ringing. They rang and rang and rang, the fear rising with every passing moment until his survival instincts finally kicked him in the ass.
He didn’t make the decision to run. He wasn’t even aware he was running until he was out his front door. He did not have the good sense to bring his jacket or his keys. He just ran. Sprinted, actually. Past the bus stop and the convenience store and concerned onlookers, all the way to the subway station, where he finally skidded to a stop and rested his palms on his knees, panting wildly while he trembled. He whimpered and rubbed his eyes before he took a deep breath, trying to calm himself down.
Did that just happen? Did Chaz really just throw a vase at him? There were no justifications in his mind for Chaz’s poor behavior, this time. No amount of telling himself that better communication and setting boundaries and micromanaging his own emotions would change what just happened. Chaz threw a vase at him.
Past the subway station was a small bar painted in white with an unassuming name in all lower case letters. It looked quiet enough that he could slip in, drink himself into a stupor, and try to forget narrowly avoiding becoming a pin cushion for pieces of a broken vase. He shivered and hugged himself tightly before slowly making his way inside.
