attention people with dyslexia!
if you have (or suspect you have) some form of dyslexia, especially the kind where your writing/spelling seems to be fine but reading is really difficult, PLEASE check yourself for irlens syndrome! i have seen people well into their 20s or later who thought they were dyslexic who could actually instantly read without issue simply by using a colour overlay
irlens syndrome basically masks as reading-focused dyslexia often due to the contrast between black and white when reading on paper/websites. if something like tumblr's low-contrast/classic blue makes it easier for you to read, you may have irlens instead!
the easiest way to check for this is to put semi-transparent coloured sheets/folders over a piece of paper to read through, or to change a word document's background to another colour. try a whole range of colours and saturation. some people read better with yellow, light blue, dark blue, pink, etc.
my friend went to a specialist for this who found their ideal shade of blue and had lenses made in that colour. they then read a book start to finish for the first time in their whole life.
and a Lot of people dont know about irlens! please check! it might improve your reading skill near instantaneously 💛
