I really wish Marvel wouldn't hate Danny. Wtf was this Anniversary comic?!

I wish that too. It would be nice! I don't understand what they were thinking, and I miss the days when I could be excited for an Iron Fist comic without it being accompanied by a background sense of dread. I'm still glad we got the issue (it's far more than Luke received for his 50th, which is still utterly incomprehensible to me), I'm happy that it doubled somewhat as a celebration of Misty and Colleen's 50th, since it's sadly unlikely that they will receive their own at this point, and I very much enjoyed most of the stories. But good grief...seriously? Seriously?! That's what you're going to do with this special celebratory landmark issue? It's disrespectful to the character, but much more importantly, it's just plain disrespectful to the fans, who were so excited about getting a 50th Anniversary Special for Danny, and whose enthusiasm and support over the past half-century is the very reason the comic has lasted this long. (The Iron Fist Podcast just recorded a...very emotional review of the issue, which I will post when it's available, but we cover our thoughts pretty thoroughly there, alongside the core lack of logic or worldbuilding continuity in the way the Ch'i-Lin was used in that story.)

With that said: taking into account the QR code page (I also have Feelings about their sticking a major plot point reveal behind a technology barrier, but I won't get into that here)...I'm nervously, perhaps foolishly intrigued. I suppose it isn't as bad as it could have been. It could be interesting if handled well. It could be devastating if not handled well, and so far, the track record has not been promising. But all we can do now is hope for the best and re-read some good back issues.

I’ve never been outside my country but among neighbouring countries, I’d like to visit Poland and Romania.

16. which stereotype about your country you hate the most and which one you somewhat agree with?

I hate most the stereotype about easy women.

And the one I kinda agree with is that we pirate lots of content. But that's mostly because you barely can buy physical copies of stuff now. And also lots of content is not available here legally. It changes with Netflix and other legal websites but it's now enough for some old content.

"He doesn't remember anything at all?"

"It's not precisely nothing," Claire said, glancing over her shoulder into Luke's room. "He knows he's an adult; he hasn't been reset to an earlier time in his life. He still has bits and pieces. It's just ..." She met Danny's eyes, her face gentle and sympathetic. "He's lost most of the people, Danny."

"Including me." He said it as impassively as possible, striving for detachment. Hell, a year ago, it wouldn't have mattered to him either.

It was just. It did. Now.

Claire shook her head, then smiled briefly. "If it helps at all, most of the doctors think the memories are still there. It's just that he can't access them."

"But you think he might be able to?"

"I don't know." She rubbed at her forehead. "Look, for now, let's pretend like you're meeting him for the first time. Apparently that's what we're dealing with." Claire turned to lean her shoulder against his for a moment. "If it helps, you could think of it like both of you getting a do-over. Don't make the same mistakes this time."

"I'm not sure if that actually does help." He squeezed her arm. "But. Thanks."

"Just be there, Danny," she said, and pressed her hand to his arm for a moment. "Let him know he's not alone."

"He's not," Danny said, quiet and fierce. "Not ever."

"So go tell him that," she said, giving him a gentle push.

Luke's door was cracked half open, with a curtain across the doorway. Danny hesitated for a moment before he tapped lightly beside the door. "Luke?"

"C'mon in." Luke's voice, so familiar, and yet with a note of uncertainty in it.

Danny let himself in. It was a hospital room, like a million others, but what really kicked him in the stomach was Luke in the hospital bed. It was just ... wrong. It didn't feel right for Luke at all, seeing him like that.

"Hey," Luke said, sitting forward, and gave him a grin, warm and yet cautious, and so very Luke that it hurt ... a lot more than he was expecting. "You're Danny, right?"

"Right." He sat carefully on the edge of the bed. "You remember me?"

"You were here before," Luke said. He sounded like he was reasoning through it, working his way around the edges of the holes in his memory. Still, his eyes were sharp and bright. He was still Luke.

"Yeah. Right. You were pretty out of it then."

"Hope I didn't say anything embarrassing," Luke said, and flashed him a quick grin that kicked him right under the ribs.

"Nah," Danny said. "Not at all. You've seen me loopy a time or two."

"I don't remember."

No. He didn't. And it was a kick in the gut to be reminded of it.

But ... Claire was right. Luke needed him. And she wasn't wrong about the do-over, either. They'd gotten off on the wrong foot the first time. Whether or not Luke got the rest of his memory back, Danny was going to be there -- was going to be what he needed.

"Well, I do," Danny said, and he nudged Luke, trying not to lean into it too much. "I can tell you if you want. Gotta warn you, it'll take awhile."

Luke made an exaggerated show of looking around at the hospital room. "Got nowhere else to be."

"Me neither," Danny said, and in spite of himself, he grinned.

So, Krysten said in an interview, that she believes the Defenders is a one-off thing. But iirc the Defenders and DD showrunners said after the release, that they don't believe it's a one time thing. Which of these stories do you believe and how do you see the shows connecting in the future ( I know about Danny in LCS2 but the fact, that Luke hasn't confirmed for IFS2 yet makes me worry a little, if they are actually gonna stick with H4H).

    As more time goes on, and filming begins for more shows (they’ve already started on Season 2 of The Punisher!), it seems less likely that we might get a second season of Defenders. However, we’d be surprised if it didn’t happen, because when you get down to it, Netflix is a business. The Defenders wasn’t their most popular show, but it was still popular, and a ton of people would watch a second season. We don’t expect anyone to be sharing that kind of information yet (they would make an official announcement), but the showrunners are more informed about long-term plans than the actors. So we still think Defenders Season 2 is a likely possibility; it just might not happen for a while. 

    Obviously, the dream is for extensive crossovers between Luke Cage and Iron Fist. (In our ideal world, we’d have those two solo shows plus a H4H team show, but that’s probably too much to hope for.) Since Danny is in Luke Cage, we think it’s likely Luke might be in Iron Fist, but that they just haven’t filmed those scenes yet, and thus are waiting to announce it. Regardless of whether or not Heroes for Hire happens in a long-term capacity, Luke, Danny, Misty, and Colleen are going to be friends, which will require extensive crossovers. 

    We’re expecting the other shows to remain a bit more separate. We would love for Jessica’s relationship with Luke to receive further exploration, but that seems unlikely in the near future, given the current status quo. DD, JJ, and Punisher are more isolated characters, with stories that don’t invite crossovers quite as readily, so we expect them to be more isolated. However, we do think a lot of crossovers will happen via secondary characters. We were delighted to see Foggy in JJ, and imagine that he might show up– alongside Jeryn, and possibly Marci– in LC and/or IF. Malcolm has now been set up as a perfect crossover character, so we expect to see more of him too. We refuse to wait for JJ Season 3 for Trish’s Hellcat transformation, so we hope she’ll turn into a crossover character. Karen could pop up anywhere. And of course, we’ll always have Turk. Even if the main characters don’t start hopping between shows, we’re still expecting a merging of worlds– possibly leading into a second Defenders-style team-up at some point.

Who accidentally pushes a door instead of pulling/vice versaDanny, bless his heart. He is also the type to get lost in a revolving door. The amount of times he’s found himself back outside of Rand after wanting to enter the building are rather embarrassing.

Who doodles little hearts all over the desk with their initials inside themColleen. Misty’s usually the first to catch her doing it, while Claire just smiles knowingly and tries to hide all the Luke-related hearts from Misty’s sharp eyes. 

Who starts the tickle fightsDanny! He used to have tickle wars with Joy back when they were kids, after all. (Do not ask about the time he had one with Ward. Just don’t.)

Who starts the pillow fightsColleen, usually by accident because she likes to fluff her pillows up and Danny doesn’t know personal space when they’re in bed together.

Who falls asleep last, watching the other with a small affectionate smileColleen. She likes to think she watches over Danny that way.

Who mistakes salt for sugarDanny for sure, though he’s grown more cautious about it after sprinkling what he thought was sugar straight onto his tongue.

Who lets the microwave play the loud beeping sound at 1am in the morningDanny again. He rarely eats something out of the microwave, but he loves midnight snacks so much that he’ll try to sneak one out of the microwave. He just forgets how loud the beeping is until it starts, and then he panics and presses the wrong buttons so it just keeps on beeping.

Who comes up with cheesy pick up linesDanny. Duh. He’ll have read them somewhere, think they sound cool.. until he uses them and Colleen just arches one of her eyebrows.

Who rearranges the bookshelf in alphabetical orderNeither one of them. The only one in their lives who’s got an alphabetized bookshelf is Ward, and Danny loves to mess with that. 

Who licks the spoon when they’re baking browniesColleen thinks it’s a waste to not lick the spoon. Danny concurs.

Who buys candles for dinners even though there’s no special occasionDanny, the little romantic. Colleen sometimes hides the candlesticks from him because she wants to get through one take-out dinner without them.

Who draws little tattoos on the other with a penColleen, because the motions and sensations soothe Danny a lot.

Who comes home with a new souvenir magnet every time they go on vacationDanny loves magnets, keyrings, pens, you name it. 

Who convinces the other to fill out those couple surveys in the back of magazinesColleen. She’ll read them out loud at the most inopportune times, though, so Ward’s mouthing “what the hell?” at Danny and Claire’s shouting “that’s Luke!” in reply before Danny can even get a word in edgewise.
