question:

is it ableist to have a character who went blind but receives an item that allows them to see? their lack of sight is a big part of the characters challenges, and a big part of the plot deals with them overcoming a huge loss in confidence and relearning something that was a big part of their life. 

but is it abelist to have them have something that can temporarily allow them sight even though they’re blind?

I really need to know if its or not because I don’t want to offend anybody!

Not for translation: Is it ableist to make fun of the way someone types when they're having a panic attack? Cause my friend just did that to me

I’ve seen some talk about that, and my personal take on it is that it is. If you genuinely have trouble typing in a ‘normal’ way when having a panic attack, I don’t think anybody should be making fun of you. If they do, I personally think it would be fair to call them ableist.

What do our followers say? Is this the right call?

I actually don't know?I know "nuts" is often used against mentally ill people (now), but while I was growing up I assumed that when people said "go nuts" they were reffering to squirrels and their nuts.But also, I am autistic so I probably didn't understand the unspoken meaning to the saying.If they mean it like what people mean when they say "go cr*zy", which is most likely the case, then it is ableist.~admincam
