the past few months have been different. lestrade pulled sherlock out of the mess of drugs and cold cases, threw him into new cases, murders that sherlock was happy to help solve. the condition, of course, was that he stayed off drugs. he could do that. with plenty to keep his mind occupied, the past few months had gone by quickly. he glanced up from his current experiment, noticing molly’s entrance as he did, and reached one hand out to push a mug closer to her.

                    “ i made you coffee. you’ll need it after last night. was it a date or                        did you just stay here a bit later than usual with a particularly                        attractive coworker? ”

he doesn’t give any explanation as to how he recognized that with only a glance, but it has to do with her shoes and hair. his eyes are back on the experiment now.
