I don't know why, but when I look at the rise of indie animation, I can't help but see quite a few parallels to the rise of indie gaming a decade ago. And I really do believe we're only just getting started.

Y'all have to remember that indie gaming rose to prominence not just because of the games and the people who made them. It was also because of the complacency and greed that plagued the gaming industry (and still does to this day) that inspired people to invest in these artists and their projects! Now look where indie gaming is today!

And while it is extremely disappointing to see the animation industry in a similarly dire state (with all the layoffs, AI, cancelled projects and whatnot), there are also many reasons to be hopeful. Because I think it will inspire people to invest their time and money away from these greedy companies and give it to those who actually respect the medium of animation!

Who knows? Maybe in the near future, when indie animation is even more of a juggernaut than it is now, indie animation fans will look back on titles like Lackadaisy, Ramshackle, and Murder Drones with the same reverence indie game fans give to titles like Fez, Braid, and Super Meat Boy.

What more can I say? I'm excited for what lies on the horizon! And I know y'all are gonna keep blowing us away with all the talent and creativity y'all keep demonstrating time and time again.

Hello this is Kyoko Cane, the Lt of Daystar Voyage I just want to make this a quick post on what I've been up to along with future content being made. along with taking notes & my tooth surgery, so here is an update. As you know this a safe space of discussions, comedy shorts, & topics on pop media/entertainment via anime/animation, so this platform is for all ages, be it modern or lgbtETC, or artists wanting to take notes on writing styles. yes aware I blame social media and the lack of today's proper school learning on what can affect our generation, so under my glamourous moniker, Kyoko Cane ill do my best to educate on said topics that can affect our livelihood, like a journal & personal input on the negatives of pop culture media. I made this moniker cause I love everything lighthearted, artistic and, feminine as he/she queen experimenting with drag/cosplay for 3 years coming into my own and have gotten so much hate speech & comments offline or not, but I'm not out just rising like a phoenix. I use this as a place to positively make an impact, however as the world today with various pronouns from lettuce cheese onions & whopper.
