hey there guys! I've been havin a blast!! -The Master, Doctor Who :)
40. "Do you need that much candy?" A concerned schneep who wants healthy friendos
“That candy is...quite a lot,” Schneep stammered as he surveyed the heaping bowls scattered across the table. How many were there? Six? Seven? “Do you really need that much?”
Chase’s answer was muffled by the candy filling his cheeks, but it was probably in the affirmative.
I've been blobbing around in the otherkin community for over six months and there's still so much I don't understand! What's a kin shift? Like with fictionkin. What's the difference between fictionkin and fictives? I feel like I should know all of this already but I don't :((
Never apologize for not knowing things! We all have to start from nothing to learn anything. (And anyone who makes you feel bad because “you should know this already” is wrong.)
Shifting as a general term means something about a person changing to closer reflect their kintype. Shifts come in many forms, the most commonly talked-about being phantom shifts (ie, supernumerary phantom limbs, the sensation of having body parts that do not and never have physically existed) and mental shifts (ie, the mindset or thought process of a person changing to closer reflect that of their kintype). I wrote a slightly longer post about it here!
Fictionkin (or mediakin, though that term has kind of died out) is someone who identifies as a fictional character or species (from a specific piece of media). A fictive, on the other hand, is a DID alter or a member of a plural system that is a character or species from a piece of fiction. I freely admit that I’m not an expert on the matter - the folks at @liongoatsnake or @flock-of-changes may be able to better help you, those blogs being run by plural systems. To my knowledge, the main difference is that fictionkin is a term for singlets and fictive is a term for plurals.
I swear kinsidering 21 different characters is either the most hilarious or heart-breaking thing I've ever ended up doing and I can't tell which :/
We are 2 and 1/2 months into this Koschei shift. I'm not saying I WANT it to end, more just that it sure would be nice if it did...
035 caught in robbery. JBM stealing food, kinda pure but please go wherever you want
"Stay right where you are, vigilante!" the officers hollered. "Keep your hands where we can see them!"
"Wait! I-I can explain, I swear!" Jackie burst out, hurriedly throwing aside the box of frozen hamburgers. "It's not for me, it's for someone on the Far End -- "
"Think you're some kind of deluded Robin Hood? Put your hands on your head and get down! Now!"
