Buck has never seen Tommy so closed off and skittish at the same time. Tommy's arms are folded over his chest and his fingers are clenching and relaxing, his stance firm yet he shifts his weight from side to side minutely.

As if Tommy can't decide if he wants to fight or flee.

Six months. It almost feels as if Buck doesn't know this man in front of him at all.

"So. Before we start talking," Buck says, trying to lighten the mood, "I just wanna say, thanks for bringing me home and keeping me safe. Not sure I'd be as generous if our positions are reversed."

"Of course you would do the same for me," Tommy protests, his shoulders relaxing fractionally.

Okay. This is good.

Buck pulls out two chairs from the dining table and puts them face to face. He cocks his head at one of them.

Tommy hesitates.

"I'm not gonna bite," Buck cajoles, adding with a tiny smirk, "unless you ask nicely."

He flinched away. “Aren’t you going to say something?” he demanded. I did it...

My first fanfic is complete and fully available on AO3 : Chapter 7.

As a reminder, my fic is canon compliant and retells season 4 with Castiel's point of view.

The last chapter depicts episodes 4x21 and 4x22 (and no, I cannot be blamed for the way it ends).

Words: 4.968 for Chapter 7. 23.901 in total.

This journey has been such a blast, but also a therapeutic exercise. I wish there were more works and more episodes centered on Castiel and the way he sees things, because he's such an interesting and inspirational character.

I hope I honoured him as he deserves it. I'll be happy to read your thoughts about it 💙

"You've spun me quite the tale," Roosevelt settles for as plates are put on the table for a dinner that Dallas wasn't expecting to get. The four bodyguards on either side of him aren't nearly so nonchalant as Roosevelt is; by contrast, they're practically seethign with rage at what's been said.

It makes Roosevelt stick out. He doesn't seem as angry as Dallas would be in his position, learning that a bunch of hood he employed are idiots playing fire with the cops.

They'd laid it out as best as they could, as fast as they could with as little interruptions to the flow as they could muster. Roosevelt had listened to every word, and when Mark had interjected a time or two, he only confirmed some details. Two-Bit had clearly relaxed at some point in the conversation, indulging in the expensive hotel food with gusto while Tim had remained stand-offish, tense and unwilling to eat. On his side, Dallas had picked at some of the food, taking only a few bites here and there, not wanting to get full or too comfortable. Mark had reluctantly eaten what was offered to him, and it's probably the best food he's had in days, if Dallas had to guess.

A guy could only take stolen Debbie Cakes and water for so long.
