It seems like despite everything Lex and Slade are going strong. Like, not only are they 'even' now in Slade's words, they are also still working together in the future we saw this time.

I fully expected this episode to be the breaking point, but here they are... still working together. That makes up for the nightmare fuel that was future Lex's design.
