Prompt 30 - Welcome
@jegulus-microfic September 30, Word count 356
Previous part First part
It was a heady feeling knowing that he’d succeed and that in just a few minutes he’d be walking Sirius out of Grimmauld Place. He slipped the over himself once again and headed towards number twelve Grimmauld Place.
The door opened for him. It was not the welcome he’d expected. He was half sure that his parents would have barred him from all their properties.
Inside, it was just as dreary and soul-sucking as it always had been. Regulus hurried through the house, clutching the cloak in one hand and the vial of antidote in the other.
He managed to get all the way to Sirius’s bedroom without running into anybody. Luck seemed to be on his side. He slowly turned the doorknob and let Sirius’s door fall open.
The room was empty. Regulus rushed in. Sirius wasn’t there. His things were still there, but that wasn’t unusual; they had full wardrobes at all of their properties and rarely took clothing with them unless they required a specific item. There was nothing there to suggest that Sirius was gone, but Regulus knew. He checked the entire property. It was empty, not even Kreacher was left.
He left the house, feeling as empty as it was. They’d taken him away, probably on the day Regulus had broken in last time.
He walked slowly over to where James was waiting for him, pulling the cloak off as he neared.
“He’s gone. They’re all gone. He wasn’t there,” he choked out, and James took him in his arms, holding him close.
“We’ll just have to wait until school starts then,” James said, his voice thick with emotion.
Remus let out a howl of pain and transformed into Moony, racing away from them as fast as he could.
“Did. Did Remus just transform?” Effie gasped, staring after the wolf.
“It’s a long story, Mum. Can we get out of here first, and then I promise we’ll tell you everything?” James begged. Effie nodded and gathered them into her arms and apparated them away, leaving the square with Regulus’s ancestral home far behind, and all hope of saving Sirius as well.

Mod: I know I'll regret saying this but y'all feel like this is the calm before the storm?
Like it is hella quiet.
Hello, darlings! I need your help - my dash, after my long hiatus, has become extremely empty and quiet. Which is no good. SOOO - I ask that you tag some blogs here that I could follow. Mainly Tolkien of course, but if it's a blog with a good mix of things and a good and cozy vibe, I'm all for it! Thank you in advance! ✨
Dev Diary: A different type of writer's block.
Ayumi was designed as a homage to my time doing blue-collar work. Someone who was (and is) currently going through the ringer. Strong despite being marred by tough times. A little preview of what her son would grow up to be.
Around this time last year in 2022, I saw the papers for a tumor on my mom's bedside table when I was walking around the house.
