I've said it before and I'll say it again cause I think a large amount of people on this site need to hear and digest it:

If you don't find interest in women characters, interact with women characters, draw women characters, read about women characters,

aka:

all your characters are men, all your art is of men, all the characters you interact with in fandoms and make fanfiction for is men and all your ships are MLM...

that's internal misogyny! If this^ is the case, you (yes you) internally do not take women characters as seriously and you should do better by reevaluating the way you interact with fandoms.

....I want more people to appreciate the gamins' socks full of cockchafers. Just. Here's these starving kids selling socks full of a fancy food ingredient they really don't have the means to make edible (all the cockchafer recipes I've seen call for some serious cooking , and for other ingredients) , something very common that they are probably better able than anyone to obtain but not in any reliable way...I don't know, it's a really powerful little touch to me . Few people seem to care about the descriptions of the gamins in the fields generally but that passage and that little touch to it are some of my favorite sections. It's the sort of thing that makes me have to put the book down and stare into space for a while.
