I wonder if grace and simon even understand how much older they are than the rest of apex

like, simon knows he was 10 when he got on the train. grace seems to be around his age and has been on the train for about as long as him, if not longer. but do they know how much time has passed? they can see that they’re bigger than the other apex kids and they’ve seen their own faces in mirrors, but do they know how to interpret how much they’ve grown?

they talk about how they’re in charge because they have the highest numbers. do they think that’s the only meaningful difference between them and the rest of apex? all just a bunch of kids, nothing like those big, scary adults even if the two of them happen to be a bit taller

I can see one-one or amelia offhandedly commenting that they’re like 18 now and them being like “no that can’t be right we’re only like 12″ and then finding out it’s true and freaking the fuck out

Infinity Train S3 Second Half Predictions

Simon’s number overtakes Grace’s, making him the new leader of Apex.

Grace leaves Apex, bringing Hazel with her, and probably Lucy as well.

Someone attempts to use the train to recreate Tuba, and possibly her family. The new Tuba doesn’t have her old memories and is clearly a different person, driving home to Grace and/or Simon that the denizens really are people.

Grace gets her number to 0, but she rejects her exit to the point where it and her number disappear entirely.

With Grace staying on the train, the season ends with her helping someone else leave, most likely Lucy.

Believe it or not, alot of people who watched the show now, knowing Simon would go crazy, got attached to him regardless. Even Owen Dennis, the Show's creator, says Simon is the character he relates to the most. A major part of Book 3's tragedy was Simon did have empathy & ability to adapt to change, but he believed he couldn't do it so chose to delude himself that raising your number was the way to go & ultimately died in the face of his trauma (suicide metaphor), his promising life wasted.

yeah, he’s certainly a character I still care about a lot myself. but I do understand why he can look different to different people, especially if they went in knowing what would happen or watched the season in one sitting
