Anons can choose to place a shield around a character that will absorb damage 1 time. The Shield will remain active until the character recieves a blow. Attacks from another character count as damage, so don't waste it!

+1 Bounce Pad

Anons can summon a bounce pad when a character is about to suffer fall damage or crash. Prevent the loss of rings and save a character from fall deaths.

Anons must be able to see the ground to throw a bounce pad. Falls into bottomless pits cannot be saved with a bounce pad. Cannot be used in boss battles as sonic is immune to damage in boss area.

+1 Spring (yellow)

Overcome obstacles on your journey. The Spring (yellow) lets you ask The Cloister to clarify an obscure hint or statement. The Cloister cannot lie to you, but can obscure information. When you use Spring (yellow) you can force The Cloister to reveal 1 secret relevant to the immediate poll.

+2 Spring (tile)

Reveal the location of a plot relevant object or location on the map, randomized. Places a yellow dot on the Game Map regardless of if you have visited that location.

+1 Ring (tile)

Reveals the location of the nearest Rings on the game map to your location, even if you have not visited the area yet.

+1 Speed Boost (tile)

Let a character race through a previously visited area of the map safely without interrupting the story or leaving the area. Characters can search a location offscreen and come back with new items or information you missed. Choose an area of the map and vote to send a character to search there.

Characters with poor observation skills have lower chances of discovering new information. Characters on a search quest will not trigger any traps or face any trials while offscreen.

+4 Number (tile)

Increase the number of action Polls in a Boss Battle.

Boss Battle Action Polls directly corelate to the Boss Battle plot, and reward you with Item Boxes when you win. By increasing the number of Polls you can increase the number of item boxes you receive. The poll only affects Anon Tasks and will not count towards the final Boss Battle score. Use the Tiles to generate low stakes Polls that yield more Item Boxes.

+16 Ring (token)

Characters can pass the Anons rings to hold for safekeeping. Rings in the Anon Inventory can never be lost, and are automatically deducted when using power ups. Anons can give collected rings freely, but accepting rings from individual characters requires a Ring Token. Characters lose all rings when taking damage so keeping most of the rings in your Inventory ensures you always have some on hand for powerups and healing injuries.

Characters need to trust you to give you rings.

Double Spin (token)

Restore Cartoon Logic to the characters. Spin attacks no longer result in head trauma. Anons must tell the character to Spin Dash and the character must follow through, requires high trust between Anons and Character to activate. Does not deactivate, permanent passive ability.

+2 Power Sneakers (token)

Anons can keep pace with Sonic or Shadow when they run off. Token is used automatically each time Anons choose to follow a character that runs away.

+2 Life (token)

Increase the chance a Resurrection Site will succeed. The more Life Tokens you have the more likely Sonic can be revived successfully.

+1 Damage Boost (token)

Increase the amount of damage you can do against The Entity. Each Damage Boost creates +1 skill points temporarily to all Anon Powers. Automatically activates when confronting The Entity. Will automatically stack and activate together when you collect more then dissappear after use.

+3 Poll Time (token)

Extend the time of a Poll by 24 hours. Tumblr only lets you set 7 day or 1 day polls. The new Tumblr Poll will be added to the previous percentage. Votes on the new poll are counted as new votes on the previous polls, so if you changed your mind you can vote again, or double your original vote!

At least 5 readers must comment in the poll that they want to put this token into play. Token can not be used after the poll is closed.

+1 Medium Doom Power

Game!Shadow can use up to two small Doom Powers (Doom Blast) (Doom Spears) in an emergency in exchange for 5 rings.

Blocks are different between regions and materials they are made out of with differing effects, I think it's the same with the Roulette Block. This would explain why they look different and give different item depending on the game.

So I think the Item Box Roulette is literal, why it happens I don't know maybe it could be connected to the Power Of The Stars.
