tfw you're making the obligatory call to the congressman's office, rehearsing the more-in-sorrow-than-anger plea for him to show some political courage, stand up to the bully, the corrupt human pustule, the orbiting toadies, get in front of a camera, speak out, join the impeachment resolution against noem, do _something_, even if it isn't enough; we're kids cowering under our desks at this point and he's the security guard in the hallway, looking at polling and counting days 'til the midterms and he only has a handgun and the shooter has an assault rifle, but you have to make him (or at least the precious idealist who answers the phone) realize that _he's the guy_, the constitution says so, he's our last hope, he has to _get in there and try_, i mean it's not even a metaphor at this point; they're literally breaking into houses, dragging people from cars, shooting them in. the. face. and you just... the call won't make any difference. you know it won't. but you have to make it anyway, so before you do, last thing, you check the congressman's twitter feed, just in case, and
