i think a fact that a lot of cishet people don't realise that the queer people who cling to their 'gay little ships' do so for a reason. most of us have had some phase in our life when we thought we'd never truly be happy for who we were. i remember nights i cried myself to sleep solely for that reason. seeing something on screen, reading books that represented people like us existing happily... makes sense you'd cling on to them right? when people say that reading heartstopper changed their life they are truly not exaggerating.
