Itt went right back to breaking my heart and somehow worse this time around because he's just so tiny and so hurt and he's been fighting for so long and then the relief that fills him when Day says his name and remembers him. And then Day apologizes for what he did and then goes right back into his old self, protecting Itt and loving him and his childish ways, wanting him to be needy and spoiled as long as he relies on Day for all of that.

First aid in Thailand, apparently (okay, so it's definitely played as an obvious joke but it's so fun to me). I love Night and Gear and their endless suffering of trying to get this toxic relationship back to a slightly more balance place so they can start enjoying themselves again. @absolutebl I am offering this to you as an update on how weird this toxic little show is and how much I love it.

Getting back on the same page about their relationship, much to the delight of Night and Gear.

What I love about this interaction is that thus far in the episode, Day has come off as a rather stern boyfriend who is annoyed and frustrated with Itt, who comes across as emotionally manipulative and whiney. But this minute long exchange between Day and Gear changes everything. Suddenly we see that Day is not, in fact, annoyed with Itt to the extent that he appears to be. He loves how much Itt needs him, depends upon him. That Itt will whine and complain about wanting cake, but Day has fully trained him to not go get it himself. I think he gets off on Itt’s whining, because it’s proof that Itt has fully accepted Day’s complete control over him. 

I also enjoy the peek we get into Day’s mind when he says that he’ll do anything to make Itt his and his alone. There’s a flash of complete insanity in his eyes. And Gear sees it. After that exchange, Gear goes from being on Day’s side to being entirely on Itt’s side. Because Itt is only the way he is thanks to how Day has groomed him(excellent translation, btw).

All of this sets the stage for the flashbacks we see in the following episodes, of Day being physically abusive in order to force Itt to never leave his side. Day doesn’t want Itt to have anyone else in his life aside from him. He’ll tolerate Itt spending time with their mutual friends, but he’d never let Itt spend time with anyone one on one, except perhaps Night and Gear, and that’s only because they live together, and Itt isn’t allowed to leave the house while Day is gone. 

Agh this show is so good I wish it had a larger fanbase.

The fight isn't about the cake, it's about Day promising to spoil Itt forever and getting him to expect it and then getting too absorbed in his work to live up to the promise he made with his love.

Day wants Itt to be spoiled and demanding but when he works so much and doesn't give him the things he asks for, doesn't take care of him as promised, then he breaks his side of the deal they shared when they fell in love and he stops being the spoiler for the spoiled.

This what Day wanted and now Itt is hurt because he's lost what he had been promised in their love.

The argument isn't about the cake, it's about the love and the promise and their relationship. @absolutebl pretty sure this is already kinkier than Unforgotten Night.
