Epiphany
The RadioStatic breakup was because Alastor is a cat person and Vox is a dog person.
Alastor has a cat (Husk), and he - like many cat people - doesn't expect unilateral obedience, even from his thralls/pets. Husk regularly argues with Alastor and (except when pushed to do something about it with very sensitive information) Alastor lets him. He didn't even force Husk to be at the hotel working the bar and instead bribed him to do so. Cats are generally seen as funky little animals who hang out with you and ignore what you tell them, doing whatever they want instead - which could also almost describe Alastor's relationship to both Husk and Niffty.
Vox, however, has a dog (Vark) and expects obedience even from those at the same level as him (Val). Vox would never let his employees/thralls talk to him in any way other than subservient, and even expects much the same level of respect from his colleagues. Dogs are generally seen as animals you expect to obey your commands, with having an untrained one generally being the sign of a bad pet owner. And this describes Vox's attitude towards his employees and, in some ways, the other Vees.
They fell apart because Alastor saw them as companions with different goals and lifestyles (like his friendship with Rosie), and Vox wanted to be respected partners achieving the same exact goals together (like the Vees).
